1. Matthews is all over the place; one day fawning about a Bush speech (that everyone else found disturbingly bad) then left wing like comments about not exactly “being elected”. Its interesting to me that he chooses to be so labile that he comes across as a brown nose that’s bipolar. He means to kiss up to both ends of the spectrum; he’s bipartisan.

2. Ditto #1, if he was a democrat he would have asked the right questions during the many interviews he had in the past. But he didn’t, he talked the talk, but he’s yet to walk the walk of his Jay Leno speach.

3. Hey Brad, the “did Chris Matthews just come out as a democrat” should read “did Chris Matthews just come out in support of our democracy.”

4. I don’t think that Chris Matthews really cares about Democrats or Republicans, just ratings and credibility with his audience.

7. This is news? It’s no secret that Matthews once worked for Tip O’Neill (D-Mass.). For all I know, Matthews may be a Democrat, although his crush on Drunky McStagger certainly calls that into question.

   I really don’t care whether he’s a Dem or Repub. Either way, he’s an idiot, and a lying idiot at that.

8. He has the “american politics are the envy of the world” disorder.

   He believes it so strongly it distorts his grasp of many realities.

   He is quite popular.

10. Matthews is an a-hole and a jerk and a pathetic hypocrite who will do anything for ratings and who would change his entire philisophical bent if he thought it would get him 2.5 additional rating points.

12. That FOX half hour news hour “comedy” show is cancelled, thus proving…AGAIN…rightwingers have no sense of comedy. Except for the real FOX “news”, which is actually funny and needs a laugh track.

13. Matthews was also a speechwriter for Democratic Prez Jimmy Carter. But I don’t sense that he has a persistant bias for liberalism, conservatism or any other -ism.

14. All pundits have a self-serving need for access, be in the mix. With Rove going underground, stories now how his winner, amoral ways were intoxicating to reporters. Honor, facts, justice and fairness were lost on them.

    No excuse for the complete deconstruction of the Democrats, Kerry in particular, and refusing to run with Swift Boat facts they had same day as the story broke. Instead replaying lies, 24/7, as credible.

    Then we blame the candidates, rather than defend them.

    Matthews loves the game, but never to be trusted. Supporting every Bush story line he has ever been fed, that of likable, strong, and effective, means he’s as compromised as all the others.

    Questioning slightly now hardly makes up for what we lost by reporters shilling for the GOP and corporate interests.

    If the ’04 election was stolen, then faulting Kerry strategy for loosing it is contradictory.

    So was the ’04 election stolen or did Bush win fair and square because Kerry had fatal campaign strategy which was the source of the loss?

    If can’t be both ways.
