Good God almighty, I think we need a music break. Here’s one. Shannon Williford’s daughter, Linden, with her innocence of youth but her burgeoning awakening to the realities of the country we live in, was touching and reminds me of my own daughter, recently turned 18 and about to go off to college. I hope I have had as much positive influence on the political awakening I have observed in her as Shannon Williford has obviously had on his daughter. We certainly need more young people like Linden, with the political awareness and energy that she demonstrates, if we are ever going to take our country back.
It’s also interesting to see the positive role and influence that churches can play in people’s social and political lives in some cases, especially, I gather, in the south. That, as opposed to the omnipresent, rigid right-wing posture of the more vocal branches of the Christian faith in this country.

I was so grateful and honored to see my video on the Saturday Brad blog, with my name associated with the Williford family. Shannon is truly a community leader and the state of Tennessee has been rewarded by his hard work. A fair election might now be possible in 2010.
