Hannity & Colmes break new terroritory tonight by discussing exorcism with two Catholic priests in light of a botched exorcism of a three year old child in Phoenix. First, Father Jonathan Morris, who believes more in God when he sees the presence of evil in someone, assures viewers that what took place in Phoenix was not actually an exorcism. Father Edward Beck then explains that being possessed by the Devil or an evil spirit is possible and that the cure for such a malady is exorcism.
Signs to look for to determine if the Devil has taken possession of a person include: speaking in a foreign language that is not one’s own language, speaking in tongues, having a certain power or knowledge that one should not have, and seeing into the future.
At one point, Sean Hannity turns to Father Morris, who has witnessed an exorcism, and states:
Father Morris, a Fox News contributor, responds by telling a story that happened to him in Spain while promoting the movie The Passion of the Christ. Long story short, the chief exorcist in Spain didn’t know what to think about the movie until he went to his most difficult exorcism case and mentioned the Mel Gibson flick. The Devil inside the tough case immediately went crazy which assured the chief exorcist that the movie was okay since the Devil hates all good things.
Next week, the chief exorcist reviews The Simpsons Movie.

Well, this “ices” the fact that Colmes is ALSO an idiot…
Would that they would exorcise themselves from the media.
Or perhaps they could help Rice and Gates to exorcise US from Iraq and get home and mind our own business.
Or exorcise the truth from Wierd Al G over at the Department of
JusticeJust Us, or exorcise the evidence from bridge to nowhere man.I don’t think that Father ‘Fox’ Morris would know evil if it came up and bit him in the ass because he is part of it, the dumb bastard.
How can people still believe in the Bible and all its spooks? It appears the “revealed” religions will never stop using fear to control the people. Even when people are injured and die from their ignorant superstitions! The entire idea of the devil and demons goes directly against our God-given reason!

I can see the FOX audience, just lapping this up…
Satan’s greatest deception is convincing us that he doesn’t exist. To all those who have negative comments or find this subject silly, a word of caution: The devil won’t bother those he already has on his side.
What is a “revealed” religion? (comment #5) Is that something that is opposite to a religion that is hidden or “occultic”? Why would a religion need to be hidden? Would it have something to hide perhaps?
The Catholic faith is a beacon of light, as in a lighthouse. It has nothing to hide, as some religions do. And exorcism is very very real. AN EXORCIST’S STORY by Fr. Gabriel Amorth is very revealing. It has nothing to..let’s say…”hide”.
Why search the cosmos for intelligent life? The search isn’t even finished here…
You gotta admit that fastest way for Catholic Churches to start puting butts back in the seats and tithes back in the bank, would be to sell itself along with the popular and fantastical “spiritual battle” iconography that people get into.
I like excorcism movies! They are great. Epic good against evil, arcane lore and intrigue. If the Catholic Church has decided to start owning some of their share in the IP of “excorcism” then we really could see a greater resurgance of the popularity of the catholic church and it is an AWESOME deflection on the whole “pedophile farm” label that they have.
They can start passing off “bad touching” as posession and excorcise the child and the priest and then more easily get the parents to sign waivers against legal action for the pedo aspects of it.
In regard to comment 10, by Kevin, if I wanted to prey on young boys or other men, that is, if I was taken over by such a spirit, my first choice of course would be the seminary. Where can one hide their disgusting desires in such a convenient manner? None of those men chose the priesthood for the holiness. They chose it to use it for their own vile wishes and desires. So in essence, none of those men are true priests and they have smeared the priesthood. And it does not stop there. Communists have also infiltrated the seminaries to overthrow the Catholic church, and have already done much damage, but the Victory will of course be with the Holy Mother Church in the end. I highly recommend the book AA-1025, Memoirs of an Anti-apostle by Marie Carre.
To Kevin, comment #10…..lol.
Do you actually believe your comments are going to hold back the spiritual battle being waged right now, or completely annihilate its existence?….because St. Paul tells us that it is not flesh and blood we wrestle with, but principalities and powers. So you like exorcism movies? Get real. The whole movie industry is meant to distract us all from the real meaning of life. And the EXORCSIST, even though it was based on a true story, exploited blashphemy and horror to its maximum. Many of those scenes were unnecessary and came directly from the pits of hell.
For all, I highly recommend this book : AA-1025, Memoirs of an Anti-apostle by Marie Carre. It’s about a communist infiltrator of the Catholic church, his memoirs were found at the scene of his death. Read it and know the truth of our churh, and how the seminaries were used by men who had no intentions of being priests.
If the devil did not exist or he didn’t hate the true church he wouldn’t want to imitate it with the Black Masses and copy them exactly.
The devil is a liar and deceiver and he wishes to be like God. That is why the Holy Mass is truly the Bread of Life given to us by Jesus himself and is the reason why we receive the Bread of Life, Jesus said, “you must eat my flesh and drink my blood to have eternal life.”
Uh, yeah. Great logic there!
If the tooth fairy did not exist then she wouldn’t have us putting our teeth under our pillows when we were children! Really, think about it.
If Leprechauns did not exist they would not hide their pots of golds at the end of rainbows and then make it so hard for us to find it.
If Buddhism was not “right” in its view of the world then Buddha would not want a billion people all over the world practicing his ways.
Let me sum it up for you, Grace:
If [insert worship/myth figurehead here] did not exist then he/she wouldn’t want all so many of his/her folowers regularly doing the [insert common practice done by followers of aforementioned worship/myth figurehead]
Congratulations, Grace. Your logic has boiled down to validating every single last religious and mythical belief in the entire world, by anyone, no matter what that is.
Now excuse me because I’m off to look four-leaf clovers. After all, if they weren’t lucky then we wouldn’t all believe that they are, would we?
Anyone who believes in exorcisms or holy miracles is foolish. Anyone who believes in the Bible as the ultimate truth is foolish. Fundamentalist Christianity is the root of all of the problems in the United States. From the rich to the poor, their ignorance continues to destroy the progress of discovering what it truly means to be human. The Catholic church is pathetic and the only reason it still has members today is through fear mongering and tradition.

Many people have either died or been seriously hurt because of exorcism attempts on mentally ill patients
Comment #16—-which is why the Catholic church has rules for such serious situtaions. Only a duly ordained priest appointed by the Bishop, after scrutinizing approval, can an exorcism be allowed with the sanction of the church. It never ceases to amaze me that the majority of people follow most traffic laws, tax laws, and the laws of their city, but to follow the laws of the church is just asking too much. EVery institution has laws, and there is no exception for the church. Chances are if the exorcism was performed in the correct manner, following the laws of the church, then this unfortunate incident could have been avoided.
