    1. The Caucus members have made a commitment to talk every day on the House Floor about the urgent need to address climate change.”

      Good for them.

Did you notice that Heather Zichal?

    2. On toxic chemicals in organic food: Seems like the door was opened to ask a whole bunch of other questions. Doean’t seem like the study was in-depth enough to draw any meaningful conclusions.

Was organic milk versus non-organic milk tested for phthalates?

      Different suppliers?

Who compares a “5-day catered diet” with just any old diet?

Who gives this catered diet to the volunteers without FIRST testing for phthalates and comparing with other organic and non-organic products?

Who calls this a scientific study????

    3. Dredd — Yep. Sad to say, the cowards at the White House have predictably backed off any real policy action. It appears that the big environmental groups are aware of this bait-and-switch, but are trying to give Obama some room to deal with the insanity of the GOP before punching back if he doesn’t do something — for once. Depends on which Obama shows up, and past experience is not encouraging.

    4. Lora @#2 — I KNOW, right?!? The headline (not chosen by the writer, btw), the caveats, and the design of the study itself bring up more questions than they answer, and it highlights the difficulty in teasing out linkages and correlations in the copious chemicals we’re exposed to everyday. The editors at Nature considered it worthy of publication, but the study itself is behind a paywall and unavailable for review. The comments below the article provide some additional perspective — showing that levels spiked measurably in just 5 days. It just shows how much more research is needed to investigate this particular vector of exposure.

    5. First off, love your reporting style.

I think it’s amazing Fox News let that admission slide, somebodies getting fired. As for the ski resorts I see a lobby forming to fight against climate change because of the impacts on business, and it WILL impact business. Sadly I think we’re too late to stop climate change, but we can at least pressure our weak democrats to slow down carbon emissions and invest in clean energy.

Longshot I know, but a guy has to have SOME hope.

    6. Thanks for the comments, Jeff. You’re right that a certain amount of climate change is already baked into our future, according to the scientific community, but like you, I still hold out hope that the world will somehow grow the political cojones to take concrete action before it’s too late to prevent the worst impacts.
