I think the two items below — one graphic and one video, both from late last week — sum up the state of the Romney campaign, at this date in time, as well as anything else I’ve seen. Neither have anything to do, either way, with whether they’ll win (legitimately or otherwise), but both strike me as representative of the state of his campaign and, more broadly, the Republican Party as a whole at this moment in history…
First, there was this poorly Photoshopped photograph of a Nevada rally posted by the Romney campaign last Friday. Buzzfeed’s Zeke Miller (who also has the original posted at the site) breaks down some of the elements of the fraudulent disaster:

Then there was the following video, as posted at CNN last Thursday, which may the single best emotional metaphor for Romney’s campaign that you’re likely to find, and not only because it’s filled with Meat Loaf. It speaks, I think for itself:
Romney could still very well be announced the “winner” a week from this Tuesday — or by the U.S. Supreme Court several months later. But, if he does, it will have been done ugly, very ugly, in all of the ways, and more, illustrated by the above.
Everything is fake about ROMNENEY.
