Fox ‘News’ 2012 Narrative of the Moment: ‘Landslide Romney!’

Share article:

Fox “News” is now informing their viewers to get ready for President Mitt Romney! It’s gonna be a rout this November, according to the Rightwing media outlet’s latest “updated election forecasting model” for the November 2012 election.

That “model” today includes Romney winning every single swingstate, with the exception of Nevada. That would include Romney wins in Pennsylvania, where the TPM PollTracker average currently has Obama up by 4.4 points, and Wisconsin, where Obama is reportedly up by 8.5 points in TPM’s combined poll average. (See all of TPM PollTracker’s swingstate averages here).

So here’s what all of that now looks like today in Fox “News” World…

To be sure, Romney has seen a significant bump in pre-election national polling on the heels of last week’s first Presidential Debate. There is still a dearth of reliable state-by-state polls since the debate, however, that might lead to Fox’ predictions seen above. Nonetheless, they’re now on the record trumpeting the upcoming Romney Landslide.

Most importantly here: Anything can now happen on Election Day. There will be no “anomalies” in the computer-reported results, because, as Fox and their paid analyst Karl Rove will be happy to remind you on Election Night, “[Fill in the state] had been predicted to go for Romney for some time”.

Some, such as National Journal’s Matt Vasilogambros, who posted the above graphic today on Twitter today, are “LOL”ing about it. I’m not so sure this Fox “News” flag plant will necessarily prove to be quite as amusing as some of the Twitterati are regarding it as today.

It’s about the narrative, stupid.

  1. and so it begins.
Is bush’s cousin John Prescott Ellis-who had Fox first announce the election for bush in 2000- still at Fox? I can’t find any info about him.

  2. Adam – I’ve deleted it. It was another spam comment. They’re constantly posted here. I try to keep an eye on them, but I’m on the road at a conference this week and unable to keep as close an eye on it as I usually try to do.

  3. It wouldn’t surprise me one bit to see President Romney. Especially given recent events with the Libya embassy attacks and the debacle urrrr debate.

A month ago I thought Obama had it sewn up lock stock and barrel but he suddenly seems to almost be trying to lose. He couldn’t even look Romney in the face during the debate, was completely unprepared, and seemed indifferent to the entire process. And now he’s reduced to running hit pieces on TV about Big Bird.

Zerosumgame can make comments such as he did: “Obama may have the voters but repthugs are working to fix the votes…” It is America and that is his right. But here’s the question I would ask: “Why would he have the voters?” Hell, Romney should be up by 20 points right now and probably would be if he could have gotten his act together six months ago. Just my $.02

  4. I guess I’m not sure what you would expect them to do Brad. The Obama re-elect committee aka the mainstream media has been touting the polls showing Obama in the lead in all those swing states for some time now. Should Fox just ignore the latest polls? Actually scratch that question because I think most polls are friggin hogwash anyway which should be ignored. But the media wants to tell people who’s winning in the latest polls. Just because it (for a few days) switched from a “D” to an “R” being ahead is no reason to get all flustered. It’s Fox News for Chrissakes….

  5. The polls were rigged until they showed Romney getting a debate bump, now they are accurately showing a trend that will continue…..hmmm

  6. Maybe I spam. Too old to know the ins and outs but again from the 14 points of fascism. Please note the part about the polls. Nobody is , much less huge numbers of people are changing their minds over one debate.

    14. Fraudulent elections

Elections in the form of plebiscites or public opinion polls were usually bogus. When actual elections with candidates were held, they would usually be perverted by the power elite to get the desired result. Common methods included maintaining control of the election machinery, intimidating and disenfranchising opposition voters, destroying or disallowing legal votes, and, as a last resort, turning to a judiciary beholden to the power elite.

  7. Paddy Power’s down for maintenance until tomorrow… uh-oh … yesterday they were offering 4/11 odds for Obama and 2/1 for Romney (lower fraction is better)

  8. Brad – its nice to see you’re not on DISCUS, or Facebook, of Yahoo, etc. Keep up the good work.

Election theft appears to be of little concern to the Dems – but keep fighting the good fight.

Maybe someday the American sheeple will wake up but I am afraid it won’t be anytime soon.

  9. This will just make it easier for them when they steal the election through blatant election fraud exactly like they did in 2004.
All they need to do is steal Ohio and Florida and that as we all know is childs play.
Even if by some miracle Obama manages to stop the stealing of the election he will spend 4 years battling lunatics in court trying to Impeach him.

These Tpublicans are absolutely stark raving insane.
