POST-SHOW UPDATE: This violence by police against peaceful demonstrators across the country is making me angry. As it turns out, that’s a good place to be while guest hosting the Malloy Show. Enjoy tonight’s commercial-free audio archives below and see if you agree…
(Each “Hour” actually 38 mins, now that commercials are removed.)
HOUR 1: We open with a rant, on the pepper spray torture by cops at UC Davis, the lies by the Police Chief about it, and Barack Obama’s failure (so far) to say anything about any of the police violence against peaceful demonstrators in this country, while condemning the same behavior elsewhere. Then ace reporter Lee Fang joins us with the latest from on the ground at UC Davis following the Chancellor’s, um, “apology” to students today…

THE LIVE CHAT ROOM IS RIGHT UP ABOVE (DURING THE SHOW)! COME ON IN!
Hello Brad. I caught about 1 hour of your show tonight while driving home. Very interesting take on the UC Davis incident. I have to tell you that I couldn’t disagree with you more regarding the students who were pepper sprayed. Simply put, no one will dispute that they were sitting peacefully, that’s not the issue. The problems for them began when they disobeyed an order to disperse after the campus Police declared their protest unlawful. Had they simply packed up and left, I wouldn’t have any reason to write this. I have to laugh when people, yourself included, categorize the Police actions as “brutality” and you took it even further by saying it was “torture”! Come on, man, really? Settle down and get back to reality…I prefer conservative talk shows (Dennis Prager, Larry Elder, occasionally Sean Hannity) but I found your opinions to be intriguing, troubling, comical and often enraging. I may tune in again…we will see. Good luck too you and your broadcast career! Happy Thanksgiving!

RJ – Thanks for your thoughts. Hope you will tune in again! And feel free to call in with your thoughts as well!
For the record, those “conservatives” you refer to, aren’t actually conservative. But I am. Unlike them, I actually believe in accountability and the rule of law and the Constitution.
To that end, you may not be aware, but the use of pepper spray to torture peaceful protesters was found to be an unconstitutional violation of 4th Amendment rights when it was similarly done in Eureka, CA a few years ago. It’s also illegal to use those sorts of tactics on citizens who pose no threat to either the cops or themselves.
I guess, under your premise that cops can do anything they want when they simply declare something an “unlawful protest”, they can even shoot the protesters, eh? The cops in the 60s would have been perfectly within their rights to pepper spray Rosa Parks in the face by your standards as well, I guess?
Sorry. I’ll stand with the rule of law and the Constitution against Big Government tyranny, even if you won’t. But thanks again for listening, and hope you’ll continue!
