   No, I did not misspell “independence”.

   I merely want to remind others that all species who share life on this Blue Marble are dependent upon Earth’s capability to sustain us.

   There is no “independence” in the Grand Scheme of the Universe.

   I suppose, if I concede that “Inter” is the dependence we sought to be independent from in the late 1700’s.

   The context of this day (July 4) is that we were “dependent” on a certain King, but severed that dependence to establish independence instead.

   We sought independence from what dependence?

   There is a specific list of those very things that we wanted independence from in the declaration itself.

   I heard that a new rock band has formed called “Backmann Palin Underdrive“, which teaches US history in the revisionist format.

   Quite true. We are also dependent on the capacity for meaningful space travel, which we do not have yet.

   As you say, we need independence from a lot of dependencies.

9. not for nuthin’, but i’ve been having consistent ‘trouble’ with several websites, but can only remember two right now: yours (bradblog), and crooksandliars…
   for *some* reason (not to get too paranoid), both of these sites (plus a couple others ?) do not show up when their links are clicked…
   it takes not once, not twice, but three times to hit the ‘reload’ button before it will show up…
   (using chrome, by the way, and not had this problem before…)
   no biggie, just a clue at the scene of the crime, if others are having the same problem…
