   A revelation of sorts, I would surmise from the evidence that Breitbart works for, or gets his funding from, Glenn Beck. Lots more money there than Drudge.

   I’m afraid, SCOPPERTOP, that pointing to Glenn Beck does not begin to scratch the surface of the hard-right noise machine.

   Follow the money and you will find a billionaire at the pinnacle of corporate power behind the propaganda organs, be they the Fox “News” network, think tanks, right wing press and shameless, blogging propagandists like Drudge and Breitbart. And this is by no means limited to Rupert Murdoch.

   According to Source Watch, billionaire Richard Mellon Scaife, the principal heir to the Mellon banking, oil, and aluminum fortune and the Scaife Foundations have channeled in excess of $340 million to right-wing groups over the last thirty year, including think tanks and media.

   Scaife was the major source of funding in the Whitewater/Lewinsky targeting of Clinton and also a major source of funding of the ultra reactionary, Robert Bork-founded Federalist Society.

   In Banana Republicans, Sheldon Rampton & John Stauber report:

   “Koch Industries is one of the nation’s most notorious polluters, part of the oil and gas industry. Brothers Charles G. and David H. Koch have a net worth of $4 billion each….the Koch Family Foundation [is a]part of a network of conservative benefactors that support industry-friendly think tanks, experts and subsidized media that repeat, embellish and reinforce their core message that corporations are good while government regulations, labor unions, environmentalists, liberal Democrats and anything else that might restrict corporate behavior are bad.”

   Koch provides a major source of funding for the Tea Party movement.

   Spot on Ernest! I think that the “Hard Right Noise Machine” took off when Joe Coors and Dick Scaife started the Heritage Foundation and as was pointed out in Orwell rolls in his grave started buying media companies and buying legislators. Now, 37 some years later, look at our Media!

AND the spokesmodel for that group?! None other than our buddy, our pal, the ‘professional Left’s’ chief critic Robert Briggs (White House Press Secretary aka ‘hitman’). Heard the litany on Thom Hartmann today-he usually has his facts in line with ‘the truth’. Guys, it AIN’T just the Right! It’s the Corprocrats as well. This crud is gonna keep happening to ANYONE who is doing work to empower the masses, because the behind-the-scenes funding is massive, and the ultimate goal is the take-down of the economy, pure & simple.     And to Sophia — I really had a lot of respect for Mr. Dean until he went on the “Howard Dean – Karl Rove Debate” gig in 2009, particularly since I believe Dean should have been making a citizen’s arrest of Rove instead of making millions on their tour. Another tiny bit of joy. They all suck, with few exceptions.

    I cannot believe it’s taken me this long to learn who did the job on Howard Dean.

    And I never thought much of Obama after I saw his appointment of Geithner, Summers and Briggs.
