A few quick updates so far today…
- The #1 recommended story over at dKos at this moment: “FBI Whistleblower says Neocons Negotiated Iraq Invasion with Foreign Agents in Summer 2001“. Good. We thank diarist “The Anomaly” for noticing. Hopefully many others will begin digging into Phil Giraldi’s mind-blowing cover story interview with Edmonds as posted yesterday at The American Conservative. There is much to dig into, and we can’t do it all alone.
- Anti-War’s Scott Horton interviews Giraldi and Joe Lauria, co-author of the January 2008 three-part front page Sunday Times of London bombshell series on Edmonds, which was entirely ignored in the U.S. (Read ’em all here, here and here.). Scott’s audio interview with the two gents is now posted here.
[Update: Just happened to hear from Scott as I was posting this, and he’s asked me to be on tomorrow’s (Thursday’s) show. | Later Update: That interview, part 1 anyway, during which we got completely sidetracked from the Edmonds issue to discuss “war, peace and our bogus left-right political spectrum, ” as Scott described it, is now posted here. Scott and I plan to sit down again very soon to finish up the Edmonds-related discussion for air.]
- Last night, amidst working on the Schakowsky story, I took a break to appear on Nicole Sander’s Air America show to discuss ‘our story to date’. You can download the MP3, or listen online right here (appx 37 mins):

I should mention that The Young Turks discussed this story on yesterday’s program. Interestingly, something I didn’t know is that The Young Turks had interviewed Sibel Edmonds a long time ago apparently.
Their initial impressions of this story seem to be that they believe some of the allegations could very well be true and have doubts about other allegations. They also admit though, it’s just a feeling and they certainly could be wrong.
I think because of the overwhelming and “explosive” nature of these revelations, some are going to react with some skepticism.
– Tom
They SHOULD react with skepticism! These are very serious allegations. They should be skeptical, and thus investigate the allegations!

Ask Edmonds how is it possible that the investigation into Feith, Perle and other executive branch members was interrupted by the Monica Lewinsky scandal if Feith and Perle weren’t in the executive branch until Bush 43 took office.
The relevant portion of the article:
Well, as the FBI developed more information, Tom Lantos was added to this list, and then they got a lot on Douglas Feith and Richard Perle and Marc Grossman. At this point, the Justice Department said they wanted the FBI to only focus on Congress, leaving the executive branch people out of it. But the FBI agents involved wanted to continue pursuing Perle and Feith because the Israeli Embassy was also connected. Then the Monica Lewinsky scandal erupted, and everything was placed on the back burner.
[ed note: In the name of clarity, I request you pick another screen name, Brad. This is confusing enough. Thank you. –99]
Over on FDL’s Seminal, this thread includes comments that perhaps the media is waiting to write about Sibel’s revelations until a second source comes forward to confirm. Here’ my take:

As for the Lewinsky scandal and how it resulted in the abandonment of investigations of Israeli Agents within the US:

Also, keep in mind that in the months prior to 9/11, another “swallow,” Chandra Levy, was disappeared.

Raymond Bonner appears to be the New York Times “journalist†who Marc Grossman could rely on to publish articles on Turkey’s behalf, verbatim.
This assumption is based on the above linked radio interview at Anti-War, wherein the guest stated that all one needs to do is google a particular story about a S helicopter deal with Turkey to see who the NYT journalist is that Grossman was referring to.

Here’s another story with a Raymond Bonner byline that ties directly into Sibel’s accusations re nuclear proliferation.

Not certain if Bonner is the journalist they are referring to, but there is this:

Records of New York Times reporters Raymond Bonner and Jane Perlez, who worked in Jakarta in 2004, also were compromised, the Times confirmed yesterday.
The FBI refused to disclose the nature or subject of the investigation that prompted the request for the phone records. At the time, the reporters were writing articles about Islamic terrorism in Southeast Asia.
Thanks Brad. I will be quite interested in your interview with Scott.
Don’t know anything about it but given his CV including his expose of the El Mozote massacre (which then seemed to get him shitcanned), unless Ray Bonner had a soul transplant, he would seem an unlikely candidate as a shill for Grossman.
David:
Then perhaps Bonner is just the guy to write the Edmonds story for the New York Times, no?
At around the time Chandra Levy disappeared, Gary Condit was meeting with Cheney in Cheney’s Capitol office.
This thread is still going…

Plunger – what’s the story on Lori Klausutis? Do you think she died of natural causes? Also, how did she climb the ranks?
August 19, 2009 – Peter B Collins Radio Podcast
Philip Giraldi, former CIA and DIA officer, on US/Israel relations, AIPAC, wiretapping and Rep. Jane Harman. This is the third installment of Boiling Frogs interviews co-hosted with Sibel Edmonds, and is quite explosive.
Radio Du Jour (non-commercial truth radio blog)
It only got on the DKos rec list once someone didn’t mention the Democrats implicated in the diary’s title. The other diaries about it were straight out disrespected. Ugh.
