There is a long line of undersea vulcans between Europe and US. Are there any statistics on the activity of that line?
Are those vulcans activity excatly the same each year the last 20 years?
No sientific reports I have seen ever mention this line of vulcans as part of the math.
Um, vulcans? Or volcanos? (Picturing thousands of miles of Leonard Nemoys across the ocean floor…)
LOL. yes volcanos. sorry to have confused you there. 😉
Sci Fy creatures properly do not produce heat or mass, no matter how long a line they are placed in. 🙂
If any more misspellings should be in this, I hope others can manage to get to a point of understanding on there own.
Goddammit! I had my diving gear all ready to go interview those Vulcans for possible husband material… so they will take me home with them….
I. Christensen — notwithstanding Brad’s Star Trek joke, as far as I know there isn’t currently any available research on whether undersea volcanic activity is contributing to the rise in global ocean temperatures, if that is what you’re asking. The study from the NOAA scientists in today’s episode did not include potential causes — just the temperature data itself.
That’s not to say someone isn’t working on that data right now — I’ll look around and see if anything crops up that addresses your question.
DES — Thanks. It was the thing with them underestimating it all the time, that made me think that there might be something that is overlooked.
If we have a raise in volcanic activity about every 80. years, they could be a factor adding to a bad situation.
I. Christensen said:
Apparently you don’t know Nimoy.
Thanks for overlooking my cheap joke at the expense of your not-likely-English-as-a-first-language note! I’ll try to behave better in the future (though no promises).
Brad Friedman — Your velcome! 🙂
I know Star Trek very well. The only thing I can hate about S.T. is that, every time they mention “we gave up money long time ago” they never mention how. 🙂
And the part about “can manage to get to a point of understanding on there own.” Was just me returning the joke to sender. 😉
And you are right, we are at least one here in Europe who appriciate this page being on the net.
Agent 99 — If your gender is female, then I am single and do have big ears. 😉
My dear I.,
I am female, and you must be over 50, solidly solvent enough to keep me in a manner that enables me to be more effective in my work for positive manifestation of intent… preferably not in the United States.
I have been browbeating Brad to introduce me to a wealthy socialist gentleman for a long time, and he’s too busy gadding about, or something, never gets it done. I even ceded that the gentleman could be a capitalist, provided he was not proud of that, and then even lowered it to solidly solvent from wealthy.
As for giving up money, here’s exactly how: Just stop it.
Big ears are just fine. 😛
Agent 99 — never considered your agent number was your age. Sorry about that. I am not nearly 50 yet, but do plan to get there. 😉
“a wealthy socialist”? Never thought they would excist unless it was a corrupt socialist. Maybe you are aiming a bit high there. 😀
I do consider myself a socialist, but far from wealthy when it comes to money. Have no dept though. The few money I have, I can easily spend myself, and is not in need of a woman to help me with that. 😉
Well I guess this is enough for a side track. Thanks for the jokes all.
Live long and prosper. 🙂
Oh, all right, then, 48, but I’m not going any lower….
Hey. I am busy leaning about Resource Based Economy here!
But it will not take me 10 years.
Well I guess I just have to settle for second best then. There must be another to come by in 10 years. Else I will let you know when I get to 48 😉
Drop by Denmark, and I will buy you a Gin and Tonic. I have a friend that is 48, I will ask him out as well. (I can hope his wife do not mind):D
Wondering what the rest of the planet must think about this thread. I started out with thoughts about hot volcanos. 😀
I would love to live in Denmark. Ask your parents to find someone who wants a 56-year-old codger babe maniac world fixer. I’ve heard nothing but good things about Denmark! [I should warn you, though, that I’m sort of engaged to an old hippie in Prague, but he just keeps saying “someday”… so, technically, I’m available as heck… and goofy as heck just now, too. :-P]

I think I can tell you how. If you examine human productivity, all money is ultimately based on energy. When energy is so plentiful, cheap, and virtually limitless then that society can manufacture almost anything and recycle everything.
One such virtually limitless energy source is this that the government has worked on for 50 years at Oak Ridge National Labritories. Other countries, like Finland, are going to build them and so should we:
Energy from Thorium
And Dr. James E. Hansen’s report to President Obama:
Tell Barack Obama the Truth — The Whole Truth
Totally OT…you know me…:-)
Happy Spring Fling:
Intent
to own or enlighten
the age old dividing line.
Ownership is not love
but an ever expanding fear
moving away from our source.
Despite that choice
the source loves eternally
providing opportunities to know.
Enlightenment
Oh yeah, then there’s this:
http://www.consortiumnews.com/lostchapter.pdf
where we should take ownership!
Hey, Ancient, if you email me something from an address that kicks back my replies again, I’m going postal.
Sorry 99, I’ve always had issues with my emails. 🙁 Use my other email.
No wait, I got busy an didn’t see your reply. I’m workin off my bookkeepin debt beading. Again, sorry.
Oh, well, so now I’m completely confused! You mean your mail both bounces replies and delivers them? How strange?
Anyway, the Zen interpretation of that piece you posted is heavily dependent on one’s ability to discern types of ownership and types of enlightenment. Ownership in the sense of taking responsibility for your actions is imperative, but ownership in the sense of having something over others — feeling that way about it, the intent to use it that way over others — is not done.
One has no control over who gets enlightenment and who gets owned as a result of one’s efforts to manifest positive intent. That is their lookout.
But thank you for sharing that.
Well anyway, have you watched the Motherhood Manifesto on link tv? Great stuff more Moms should see!

I know…I know… who she was, but just the same.
TeeHee.
99, the simple question do you intend to own or enlighten. Thanks, I don’t want my words twisted.
Ah, not oblique.
I intend, over all things, well-being for all sentients… even those I do not like. Sometimes that is not mild. Frequently, in this filthy mess we call the world, that is not mild. It’s your lookout how you respond to it.
