Arnebeck Live Tonight on The Peter B. Collins Show

Share article:

Ohio Attorney Cliff Arnebeck, who notified Attorney General Mukasey yesterday about threats made by Karl Rove against the GOP’s high-tech guru, Mike Connell, as we reported last night, will join Peter B. Collins and me during my weekly Friday 5pm PT appearance on PBC’s syndicated radio show.

You’ll be able to listen online at www.PeterBCollins.com if his show is not aired in your town. And you may call in with questions and comments for Arnebeck or myself at 888-5-PeterB (or post them here, and I’ll try to ask them). Hope you’ll tune in!

POST-SHOW UPDATE: Arnebeck joined us for the first half-hour of the show and dropped a few interesting details during our discussion. Among them: 1) Bush can’t pardon someone convicted under a civil RICO case, which is what Arnebeck is compiling. (Also, can’t remember if it came up during the interview, but as some have suggested that Rove simply invoke Executive Privilege to avoid being deposed in this case, Exec Privilege does not come into play in such a case. It only refers to Congressional testimony.) 2) Connell had agreed to meet with the House Judiciary Comm. several months ago, but so far Judiciary hasn’t followed up. 3) Arnebeck makes a tantalizing reference to the finding in the Paula Jones case that sitting Presidents may be deposed in civil cases. More detail on those points and others in the audio interview.

  1. This is historical. Frankly, if someone’s only motive were self-advancement, supporting election integrity would be a no-brainer. The media talking heads are fools for downplaying this, and history will see them as clued-out clowns. The way the up-play voter-fraud, though studies debunk the threat, while ignoring massively documented unreliablity of electronic voting machine. Basically, working in the mainstream media is pretty much the same thing as being a cult member spreading cult-propaganda on the street. To say one works in the mainstream media is similar in tone and has the same kind of credibility as saying you’re a Moonie or a Scientologist. Must be embarrassing working for the mainstream media nowadays.

  2. Hey, I realize this is a little off-topic, but I just got this response from my brother, a Republican in Pennslyvania, to my forward of your Rove story;

    “I figure the Ohio repubs are as corrupt as the Pa Dems – both have used their influence to remove opponents from the ballot.

    In PA the current scandal is called “Bonus Gate”. The efforts that removed Raph Nader in 2004 and Caral Romanelli (Green Senate candidate 2006) were performed by paid staffers from the Democatic caucus on the taxpayer dime. They also used tax payer $$$ 4.8 million to do opposition research (20-60 hour process / opponent) as well as daily campaign activity – printing materials, distributing, working the polls, challenging petition signatures, phone banks, even being a chief staffers Ho (and she is STILL getting paid 45K – because she was honest enough to admit screwing the guy for a job). so far 12 indictments have been handed out – more to come.
    So far, all democrats , I expect that to change – we have people that are long past retirement as well.”

    I am a Democrat, so I find this really depressing. My point is, that as a Democrat I would be happy to see the vote suppressors and stealers from both parties prosecuted to the max. The penalty for Democrats should be twice as bad, because it is really embarassing.

    Do you have anything on this story?

    Thanks for everything you do!!!

  3. Rove, that queen ain’t gonna go down easy. I predict Rove will make “deep throat” (no gay Rove pun intended; but if the shoe fits…) look like some press secretary writing a tell all book.
    …and all the kings horses and all the kings men, could not put Humpty together again.
    15 minutes up Rove.

  4. If Arnebeck thinks that Connell is going to squeal out of the goodness of his heart, he might as well head for the door right now.
