Perhaps impeachment won’t die in the House Judiciary Committee after all, as Pelosi gently — if tepidly — seemed to put the topic back on the table, according to Politico today, (via RAW STORY):
“This is a Judiciary Committee matter, and I believe we will see some attention being paid to it by the Judiciary Committee,” Pelosi told reporters. “Not necessarily taking up the articles of impeachment because that would have to be approved on the floor, but to have some hearings on the subject.”
Pelosi added: “My expectation is that there will be some review of that in the committee.”
Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) filed 35 Articles of Impeachment against George W. Bush in June. Those articles, like the ones before them against Dick Cheney, were referred to House Judiciary where action has yet to be taken on them. Yesterday, Kucinich announced that he will introduce yet another Article today, on Bush lying the country into war, in a privileged resolution on the House floor.
This morning, his office announced the new article will be filed between 3:30 and 4:00pm ET today. They are asking the public to sign their petition calling on Congress to take action on the matter.
DISCLOSURE: The BRAD BLOG was consulted by Kucinich concerning the Bush Articles of Impeachment. The information submitted was included in Article 28, “Tampering with Free and Fair Elections” and Article 29, “Conspiracy to Violate the Voting Rights Act of 1965” of the original 35 Articles filed last month against Bush.
My skepticism is reinvigorated!
But then again, I woke up with my radio telling me that the death of the forth amendment was a victory for the president of the United States.
Then again, with Dennis Kucinich working for us, maybe we’ve got a chance.

I’m sorry but it just seems to me she is playing the sound-like-you’re-finally-going-to-do-your-job thing to pump up her single digit poll numbers. Russ Feingold pulls this trick all the time. John Conyers does it all the time. Henry Waxman does it all the time. Nancy and Harry do it occasionally, and now that they’ve shredded the 4th Amendment right before our eyes, she wants to do a little damage control by relighting a ray of hope in the demoralized minions. I’m sick of the TALK from these fucks. I want ACTION. I want RESULTS. I think we should dock them ten percent of their holy campaign contributions every time they open their mouths. THEY’RE JUST FUCKING WITH OUR HEADS. That’s their entire job description nowadays.
I consider this a bit below tepid, just gameplaying for the election cycle.
Vicious criminals are what we build prisons for. Our protection. And Pelosi’s interests are much lower than that. She only wants to protect her own job.

Pelosi, Conyers, Feingold, Reid, Waxman don’t give a rat’s ass about we the American people.

From reading all the responses to this story around the internet, it seems as though the people have been fooled for the last time.
I had this wonderful dream the other night that I was marching with Cindy Sheehan. Everybody was so happy.
I predict that impeachment WON’T happen. Congress is very SCARED of the interests that own and control them.

Well, I’m sitting here dreaming of standing in front of a joint session and firing their asses. You need to elect me Queen of Planet Earth for, say, no longer than a year. It would be a wild ride, but everybody — even the warmongers and greed demons and felons against humanity I’d shoot to Pluto — would end up much happier. I swear it.

Why would Democratic party members allow opposing party members to steal elections, ignore Congressional subpeonas, create the worst record of crimes to humanity in American history, and then let them think they can get away with it all???
The theory of ‘checks and balances’ is fine but somewhat irrelevant if there is actually only one party in power permanently.
