Our friend, sometimes seen in BRAD BLOG comments by the name of “Czaragorn,” lost his beloved wife, born Anna Pernikarova, on January 22, MLK Day, after her 3 year fight with cancer. She was 53 years old.
“Czaragorn,” an American ex-pat who now lives in the Czech Republic, quietly corrects my grammar, typos, punctuation, and wicked tendency to write “it’s” instead of “its” and other such thankless tasks. He works late at night, from across the ocean, after we’ve moved on to other stories, and other things, like sleeping.
Many were the nights, he tells me, that Anna looked the other way, as “Czaragorn” toiled on our behalf. My prayers, best wishes, and condolences go out to him tonight. Thank you, Bob. RIP, Anna Pernikarova.

My condolences to “Czaragorn.” Such efforts as his are often overlooked, under-recognized, and time-consuming. His wife must have made sacrifices of her husband’s time with her for this to be possible, and it is entirely right and just that Brad Blog should recognize that. May she rest in peace, and may Czaragorn always keep the best of memories of her.
Dan
I have tremendously appreciated “Czaragorn’s” valuable comments at Bradblog through the years. As an American expat living in the Czech Republic he has provided a unique perspective on the events that have marked this country’s sad turn away from democracy. Obviously, he has also provided additional valuable services to this blog from behind the scenes. I am so sad to hear of his loss of his beloved wife, Anna. She died on MLK day and I can’t help thinking of the refrain, “it seems the good they do die young”, from a late ’60’s song dedicated to MLK and other great, lost American leaders, called “Abraham, Martin, and John”.
I hope that “Czaragorn” has friends and family to share his memories and his grief with in his far away home. I’m sure he has friends and admirers here at Bradblog, for what it is worth. My deepest condolences go out to you, my friend. May your beloved wife rest in peace and may you find a measure of solace in the memories of what you shared together. I hope we can look forward to further benefit from your informed thoughts on this blog in the future.

Oh. My heart. Sweet BiPpy.
Thank you all for the kind words and thoughts. On Monday morning at 9:20 ET please send positive energy Anna’s way as she is reduced to ashes. I still can’t fully comprehend that her brilliant spark has been extinguished, but she will certainly live forever in my heart…
Czaragorn,
Please accept my heartfelt condolences in this time of sadness on the loss of your Anna, and may you find some comfort in knowing that your fellow patriots over this side of the pond share your grief and pain.
And always remember……..she isn’t gone, she’s only journeyed on ahead and is just waiting for you and the rest of us around the bend in the road.
Peace, brother
