Blogged by Brad from the road…
The Grand Lake Theater marquee in Oakland last Thursday Night, for the screening of UNCOUNTED: The New Math of American Elections…

More photos as I can get time to add them once I’m back home and/or off the road for a bit. Though here’s a very quick clip from inside the theater — with a great crowd turning out! — during the screening…
Was great to meet so many of you there and at the Sacramento screenings on Tuesday! You are my heroes. Thanks for coming out! Buy a DVD and spread the word in your town…
UPDATE: Photos from the Sacramento screening, now posted by Bill of Sacramento for Democracy.

What does it matter if it doesn’t count?
Hey Dredd, just for the record what would satisfy you? I mean DRE bans are too forceful (EI purist) and paper ballots aren’t the answer, because they can be corrupted too, right? But if a strict chain of custody were enforced on the ballots,we’re good? I’m not being difficult just curious.
The proof is in the pudding Ancient. If you like what you got dig it, if not criticize it.
The government has the burden of proof, and if they do not carry that burden fuck them. I have no sympathy for the devil dude.

Whoooaaaa, Whoooaaa, Whoooaaa, Dredd that’s a wee bit to easy there, matey. The last puddin (letting scotus decide) gave us this SHIT!
Sorry Dredd, I won’t lay down and die that easy, not when I still have clay between my fingers and toes.
Brad, that was the chintziest movie trailer I ever saw!
Ancient and Dredd, are you guys speaking in code again?
Dear Brad,
I was just thinking—
What if you approached a billionaire
philanthropist(maybe Mark Cuban). The you could be,
say, you, Bev Harris, Bruce O’Dell, and Jonathan
Simon. Impress upon the philanthropist the urgency of
the situation regarding democracy and our election
system. If possible get them to watch Uncounted.
Explain to them the urgent need for and benefits of a
public domain national exit poll for the upcoming
election.
Benefits—
1.provide an invaluable tool in the battle to
safeguard the election.
2.provide an invaluable and desperately needed
educational opportunity, with the attendant publicity
of a rich famous person taking such a bold
unprecedented step, for the country to learn about
these issues which must happen if we’re going to
change.
3.provide an invaluable public relations coup for the
rich person. An opportunity to become a national hero
while saving the U.S. democracy doesn’t come along
every day. Explain that this is a limited offer cuz
the country will not make it through another four
years of this shit.
4.if we were successful and swept enough decent
candidates into office we would then have at least a
two year window to really push for real election
reform and all the other legislation and action on the
oh so many issues that need our urgent attention.
If Mark Cuban(he’s already got a leg up on the
issue)or Warren Buffet or George Soros doesn’t go for
it, what about ten giant progressive Hollywood stars?
Sean Penn, George Clooney, Tim Robbins, Susan
Sarandon, etc., all chipping in or hell, maybe Oprah
could finance it by herself. How much can it cost? If
she wants Obama to win the best way to give him the
best shot is to have a real election. You live in Los
Angeles, you must hang out by the pool and cocktail
these people up, don’t you?
Whoever payrolls it, they hire Mitofsky away from
the media. Or better yet, we create our own People’s
National Exit Pollsters. Paid indispensable public
service. We foil the embezzlers!!We win one for the
home team!!!
Besides the obvious difficulty that this is this
country we’re talking about here, why couldn’t we do
this? I’m serious. Why couldn’t we do this? Wouldn’t
it be the coolest? The People’s Pollsters Safeguarding
the Public’s Trust. I love the idea.
love,
Dave
p.s. I know you’re not too busy to do this.
p.p.s. In the meantime, I’ll keep showing Uncounted to people.

(Blackbox Voting, emphasis added).
Election warlords in the bananna republic of Bullshitistan chant like monks: “It is not who votes that counts, but who presents the final ballots that count”.
Just checked with our friends over at DKos.
They are still pushing the line that the New Hampshire primaries had no significant problems. There are, according to them,no chain of custody issues,no memory card issues, only slight normal variations in the vote totals and so far the recount shows that everything is just peaches and cream.
I will wait for Brad to weigh in on the recount and what it has or has not revealed before I form any opinions regarding it.
