Election integrity expert and author of Fooled Again, Mark Crispin Miller, made some remarkable comments while speaking to the LA Election Protection Task Force last night. Robert Carillo Cohen, producer of Hacking Democracy, was also a featured speaker at the event.
After covering some preliminary matters, Miller retold the story of his post 2004 election encounter with John Kerry when the Democratic candidate admitted that he believed the presidential election was stolen. This shouldn’t surprise anyone since, as Miller states:
And believe me, a cursory study of the evidence makes it abundantly clear that the election was stolen and it wasn’t even that close.
Which ultimately leads Miller to conclude that Kerry is in denial:
Because if you really do accept what happened, you realize that it is a catastrophe, it’s an emergency. And it’s something that a guy like John Kerry or Al Gore is simply not built to deal with, right? Because if you come to terms with what went down, you realize that it is an attack on American democracy. Business as usual can’t simply continue. We gotta do something. We gotta hit the barricades.
But resistance to the idea that American democracy is under attack goes far beyond Kerry and Gore. Miller believes the way to break through this resistance is to:
keep publicizing, to keep spreading the word, to keep making clear that it is not just this little thing here or that little thing there, we’re talking about a fringe movement that has taken over the Republican party that has been dismantling democracy, that has been destroying the voting system on every conceivable front, not just the machines. They are even messing with the census. They are preventing another census from being taken because if you have census data you can track this stuff more easily.
Finally, Miller concludes by going over a 12-step approach to reforming our elections.

If Kerry believed that the 2004 election was stolen then why didn’t he insist that all votes be counted as he had stated he would prior to the vote?
I would somewhat disagree that Kerry was in denial. I think that, for whatever reasons,he failed to keep his word and he bears his share of culpability for the sorry state of the election process with which we are now confronted.
The last census I participated in was in the late 90s’. I had a renter in my house ..they weren’t interested in her name and data because she wasn’t a home owner.
Well, that video rocked in a damn major way….
Like in star wars where democracy died to applause because the body politic was unaware and unwilling to become aware.
Perhaps the people have low esteem for the MSM, as we do, because they know they MSM is trying to hoodwink them.
Was this meeting of the LA Election Protection Task Force public? Where and when do they meet? Is there a web site (Google didn’t bring anything up for me)?
We don’t hold meetings per se. We organize and train poll monitors/pollworkers/and videothevote for elections here in Los Angeles. The event was a kick-off party to get people together for a year of 3 elections. If you are interested in learning how to become a poll monitor, we will hold training classes on the saturday and sunday before the feb 5 election by teleconference. We are putting together a small website next week with poll monitor info and links. Email your info to:votersvp@gmail.com if you want to join us, and I will get you onto our mailing list.

Mark Crispin Miller is a national treasure for his ability to boil down the issue of voting machine fraud into something understandable, and present it in a humorous, albeit terrifying way. He is certainly not one of the people, or organizations in denial.
When I read he had a twelve step program, my first thought is that it was too complex, but on seeing the video, I can see that the twelve steps are easy for anyone to understand and a brilliant plan for electoral sanity!
Kerry never planned to “win” in 2004. That whole thing was [to use a professional wrestling term] “a work.” We started trying to warn everyone the day Kerry was annointed and Dean was removed, both events having nothing to do with us, the people, and everything to do with “the powers that be.”
How will selection 2008 be handled? Obama and Clinton are in corporate pockets. Will one of them be seated? Or will one of them simply be used as the “democrat” so that, when the republican candidate “wins,” they can trot out a “sadly, America simply wasnt ready for a [black] [female] president.”
As long as They know there’s no danger we the sheeple will take to the streets [and muttering “you just wait until next time!” under our breaths doesn’t scare them], we’re in no danger of having a real Election…

Regarding Kerry, after hearing the whole story of the incident told in detail, I suddenly get an
extra -queasy feeling I didn’t used to have
when I think of Skull&Bones.
And regarding the widespread Public denial of election fraud, it is reminiscent of a certain famous ship. Just like that ship, so many regular folks see The USA as unsinkable.
Back in 1912 someone said or wrote,”Even God
could not sink this ship”.
Smug certainty often comes before a fall
(or a sinking).
