The former AT&T employee, who spoke on condition of anonymity to the Times said he took part in several discussions with agency officials about the plan.

No offense to any of the reporting on this particular story, but this is old news. I’ve been reading about the pre-9/11 spying for quite awhile now, the most recent time being not so long ago in TomPaine.com. The entire Bush/Cheney administration was so busy setting up this spying program, that it’s very likely their attention to it was one of the reasons they were dismissive of the pre-9/11 intelligence. They were busy little bees back then, working long into the night to lay the groundwork for the unraveling of our constitutional rights. They didn’t have time back then to be careful about national security.

Something I’ve noticed at other blogs with good info are the number of commentors who seem to believe impeachment is a lost cause. Don’t those people know you don’t get what you won’t fight for. I mean, they said DRE bans were impossible and look at that fact evaporating! Its like these people are only half awake. In a power struggle sheer force of will is very contagious, especially when truth is on your side!! Just look at what Dodd did yesterday!!!
