In a press release concerning this lawsuit the City Attorney, Dennis Herrera, had this to say…
This lawsuit is on top of the suit filed yesterday by the state against ES&S for nearly $15M.
Diebold’s memory card failures have happened in Connecticut as well as in Florida. How many more states will have the same problems?

You have to love slashdot’s awareness of computing. Let’s Just take the quote, “Does relocating two circuit boards, rerouting several internal cables and changing some mounting bracket supports mean an e-voting device must be recertified to meet state e-voting requirements?
The company also contended that the changes to the AutoMark A100 were so minor that ES&S was not required to submit them for review.
The only changes made to the devices were minor engineering modifications, according to ES&S. ”
heh heh heh. As an aircraft fucking electrician I would have to say that I would have problems with “relocating two circuit boards” (that fucking replacing logic) and “rerouting several cables” (that’s replacing logic.) How about we wack the whole system with HF RF packet bursts?
