On the road for many hours today, hopefully for the last time this “Summer.”

Have been working hard over the last day or two, and again today, to try and help move things forward with some sensible federal Election Reform in time for 2008. We’ll see if we have any success. Even on the roll.

But as I’ll be off the net for the bulk of today/tonight, here’s an open thread to keep you busy on 9/11’s sixth anniversary when I know that you, like most Americans, have just one thing on your mind: Was Britney’s performance all that it should have been on MTV’s Video Music Awards?

    We can work on her “lip syncing skills” too.

    Funny how she grows up, becomes a more full figured woman and the news is all bad about how she looked.

    That said, haven’t seen the clip yet, but I’m sure youtube will have one up at some point.

  2. Dude, she looks just fine to me. A little less articulate, but dayum! MTV has sucked since the late 80’s And yes, I saw the videos of the arrests today… blatant overreaction to a god damn button, and the buttholes ordering the arrests looked as if they had a bad case of priapism and enlarged hemorrhoids. Duncan wins the Sherlock Holmes award for figuring out their “plan”. Despotism has been on my mind as of late, as well as (and this is for you G) the second amendment. What is the moment at witch people will say enough is enough? Is this moment psychically emitted through the minds of the downtrodden, or does it happen at random intervals like a powerball? Most hope that there still is still a chance of redirecting this country through our representatives, but I am loosing faith daily.

    I guess that somewhat answers my question.

My thoughts at this time are on the hopelessness that seems to blanket myself and many I know right now, due to the lack of any viable plan to save this country as we’ve known it from the current regime of political goons trying to take over the world. There are no knights in shining armor coming to save us or lights at the end of the tunnel.

    Oil is only the 2nd reason for the invasion of Iraq, a bonus if you will, imho. The real reason is for defense and war spending and the direct financial gains being made by ALL of the political crooks sitting in Washington ordering the very destruction and murdering that their companies and/or family members directly profit from.

    I am thinking about how my country is being merged, without a damn mention by the “news”, with Canada and Mexico. I don’t remember that being on the political “platform” these crooks ran on. I resent I’m not being protected and I’m being forced to pay for illegals when I can’t afford to pay for my own family. I’m crying at thinking how hard I’ve worked for decades, and the generations before me worked, to build and create the cities and towns that are being given away today.

    I’m crying for all of our suffering military members and families. I was one of them when my son was there.

    Britney’s crotch, bald head, bad parenting and lack of talent amazingly takes up all the headlines, while the real news facing this country goes unreported. Demo and Repub cat fights and bullshit spews, while all along kissing the king’s ass and lining their pockets. Bad drama too. I don’t think our future lies in the hands of any Presidential candidate or the jokers currently running the halls and stalls in Washington – I think it lies in the hands of the people.?.? Hope the “news” covers this Saturday and the march on Washington. I’m pretty sure they won’t be able to ignore it!

    Thanks, Brad, for all you do – a fair election would be a huge band-aid for our bleeding and the tiny hope of our survival and recovery.
