According to a story in the Miami Herald by Marc Caputo;
The study by the Florida State University Security and Assurance In Information Technology Laboratory (SAIT) has found that the issues discovered by Harri Hursti in the now famous Hursti I hack have not been addressed by Diebold. The SAIT Team also inspected the state’s Diebold DREs and DRE Bootloader.
In a letter to David Byrd of Diebold, Secretary of State Kurt Browning gave Diebold until August 17 to correct the identified problems. Failure to do that will result in the system not being certified for use in the next election in the state.

Maverick? Why not HERO…douchebag media whores…
ION SANCHO deserves far better treatment!
Wow, this is like being into a war for six years and having no valid reason.
Exept it has been longer than that. Incompetence is the hallmark of this fiasco.
Is there any such thing as incompetent democracy? If so, the election realm is its heart.
Ion Sancho is a maverick instead of a hero because of the general mindset of the main stream media, which is owned and controlled by the very richest members of our society. Employees of MSM seem to get a kick out of “spinning” the news by inventing descriptions of news subjects which reflect the opinions of their bosses. For example, Palestinian gunmen are “terrorists” instead of “freedom fighters” or “patriots”.
Sadly, the effect compounds over time, and after several generations, a patriot and hero like Ion Sancho becomes a “maverick”.
Then, we get to the meat of the subject. Members of the uber rich have been financing their propaganda machine for over a generation. Their think tanks, foundations and publications have consistently misrepresented reality until now there is a substantial segment of the population who are quite thoroughly misinformed, if not deluded. Think of Republican Congresswoman Ginny Brown-Waite’s simplistic generalizations about Muslims. Think of Democratic Congresswoman Wasserman-Schultz saying Ginny has backbone, even as Ginny’s last Democratic opponent feuds with the current FDP chairperson over the lack of support from the party.
We need to spur reality and spurn falsehoods by using anti-trust laws to break up the main stream media, thus reintroducing competition into the reporting of news.
I thought Florida banned DRE’s! If they only have scanners, then there are paper ballots that can be audited, then recounted… not true?
