Our long road trip continues. And who knows? At some point, we may even fit in a day or two off if we’re lucky!
After heading from California to Arizona to New Mexico to Texas to Oklahoma to Arkansas to Mississippi to Alabama to Georgia to Tennessee to Kentucky to Missouri and then back down through Oklahoma, we now find ourselves somewhere in Texas, en route to Houston, where we will stay put for a couple of weeks.
Beginning on Wednesday, I’ll be Guest Hosting the Peter B. Collins Show for a week and a half, Monday through Fridays from 3p – 6p PT (6p – 9p ET, or 5p – 8p CT on our Houston clock) and hope you’ll tune in to one of Peter’s affiliate stations, or via the Internet for whatever trouble-making we end up cooking up.
We’ll be broadcasting each day out of the facilities of KPFT, as generously offered by the good folks of Houston’s Pacifica Radio affiliate station there. We’re very much looking forward to it, as we’ve not been on the air for such a long stint in quite a while. The last time would also have been out of Texas, during the Summer of 2005 from “Camp Casey,” where we took the old BRAD SHOW on the road for our special “Operation Noble Cause” broadcasts from the middle of one damned hot cow pasture.
Ironically enough, it was some of the good folks from KPFT who helped us get on the air in a broadcasting miracle back in 2005 from on the ground at “Camp Casey.” We’re promised air conditioning this time, and perhaps even slightly shorter work days, but we’ll see. Either way, I hope you’ll both join us and spread the word. We’re hoping to set aside the last hour of each show, each day, as our Election Integrity Hour. But now that we’ve left Kansas, things may change quickly around here.
We’ll try to keep you up to date each day here at The BRAD BLOG with a list of guests and a LIVE open show thread during the broadcast, as well as take as many of your calls (1-888-5-PeterB) as we can, even while the BRAD BLOG Guest Bloggers (and I) keep on blogging here at the same time.

Dood, you & Des rock. Be sure not to let Texas mess with you! Note that Peter B. had an outstanding interview and call in session with Prof. Mark Miller last night and it was fantabulous — call ins were great, etc., but in covering 6 years of open election larceny by the GOP crime ring they never even GOT to the vote caging scandal. So the table is set for you to do it, Brad — and you are SO the right guy for the job. Please give MCM a call back and have him on again and also if you can get Greg Palast for an interview it will be outstanding as well. Let us know if and how we can stream your week of bein’ the media.

In times unprecedented and tinged with despair, it is appropriate to reflect on the founding of our great nation. It was not with George Washington, but with Brutus, and not the one who killed Caeser. There was another who rebelled against the tyrant monarchy of Rome, The Tarquins. He wrote the Roman Constitution that would stand for 500 years. His sons sided with the monarchy. The monarchy lost. So to punish his sons and found a perfect union, he immolated his own sons.
Machiavelli speaks fluently and voluminoulsy and voiciferously on this subject, in ‘The Discourses’, and yet is proved wrong on several counts by the miracle of America. He says that a nation founded in servitude, as America was a colony, will never win its freedom. He also says that a nation founded on fertile soil that is easily defended, will in time loose all of its freedoms because it will become, eventually, inevitably, sloth and sated, and will forget to protect them.

It is imperative that WE, the American people, IMPEACH BUSH and Cheney prior to the time he uses the EXTRAORDINARY POWERS he has granted to himself; afterwards impeachment may be more difficult to accomplish.
IMPEACHING Bush is 1st priority. IMPEACHING CHENEY without BUSH “WILL NOT†accomplish keeping future presidents from having Bush’s EXTRA ORDINARY POWERS. IMPEACHMENT of BUSH is the solution for the moment and the solution for the future, so that we do not have other presidents, be they Republican or Democrat, claiming and using EXTRAORDINARY POWERS contrary to the U.S. Constitution and the Laws of the United -States.

There is “sufficient grounds for IMPEACHMENT†in the Bill Moyers Journal Interview 7/13/07 and IMPEACHMENT will eliminate concern regarding the May 2007 Presidential Directive 51 that Bush signed granting Bush the right to assume extraordinary powers under martial law, as well as concerns about how future presidents will use the EXTRAORDINARY POWERS claimed and used by Bush.
