Brad wrote about it a couple of weeks ago. Then Greg Palast offered up a heartfelt apology on BRAD BLOG writing, “Boo-hoo! I made Tim Griffin cry.” And now you can watch part of the infamous speech that will surely leave many readers teary eyed themselves. The part available at left is where Griffin denies knowing anything about vote caging, and references Palast — though he refuses to mention him by name.
Of course, Griffin seems to have known what caging was, and had no similar problem naming names in the spreadsheet documents he sent to other Bush/Cheney and RNC operatives in an email with the subject line “Re: caging”. The spreadsheet attachments contained lists of voters — mostly minority voters, some serving over seas — which they had planned to challenge at the polls in Florida during the 2004 election.
Thanks to TPMtv/Muckraker for the video. As well, they have done their own analysis of the Griffin caging lists in order to verify Palast’s findings
Michael McDonald, an Associate Professor at George Mason University and an expert on elections statistics, said that the chance that the list is randomly so different from the population is less than 1 in 10,000. It is illegal to target voters based on their race under the Voting Rights Act.
Yes, “illegal”. As we’ve been reporting for quite some time now. Also, in violation of several consent decrees, signed by the RNC during the 80’s, that they would no longer target minority voters in these type of campaigns.

If Timmy Griffin is so pure as the driven snow then please explain the emails he sent when he was communications director of re-elect bu$$h/cheney 2006.
Also too – if timmy the slimy snake was so above board and a fine upstanding American – explain why this rovian robot buddy boy was appointed the US attorney of Arkansas by way of changing the “Patriot Act” by covert means and bypassing the Senate confirmation process. Once the law was changed back to require Senate confirmation Timmy Griffin ran for the hills because his slime/viper/revolting vulture/serpent/snake election fraud of voter caging/suppression/disenfranchisement – previously racist conduct under court order to cease and desist – would not now stand the Senate confirmation spotlight process.
These racist unAmerican anti-democracy haters of the United States of America – and defilers of the US Constitution and Bill of Rights should be locked up in jail not roaming the streets to ply their criminal trade during the next election cycle.
They are scum that should be returned to the nearest swamp, they have not evolved beyond the primordial ooze and goop. Amoeba, bacteria, algae and plankton have a higher IQ that these rovian Republican fascist pigs. They are here only for one purpose – to contaminate a free/honest/and fair election process and install a Nazi theocratic fundimentalist Christian/Dominionist government with 100 year dictatorial rule.
Just read the Siegleman story – that too had me foaming at the mouth. This KKKark Rove and his minions – belong behind bars.

Say it again under oath.
Liar!
way to go Brad! was that you he was referring to… lol!
it’s great to see another lying, corrupt, fascist neo-con like Griffin bite the dust.
At no time during his press conference (?), did he offer even the slightest explanation of why or how the accusations about his caging votes were false. And he’s a lawyer?! My god, the JD is filled with gross incompetents. A friend of mine read elsewhere that the effects of the incompetence within our JD is incredible, with much of what it has written not being at the level of someone trying to get into a law school, let alone someone who actually graduated from one and then managed to get hired into our federal legal system. I’m not a lawyer, so I couldn’t tell you. But if this is true, we are going to be paying the costs of this infiltration of our JD by incompetents for years to come.
So with Monica Goodling, we had the “I didn’t mean to do it” defense, and with Tim Griffin, we have the “I didn’t do it, boo-hoo-hoo” defense. I guess that spending their school years reading and studying mostly the bible has left these clowns with a somewhat narrow perspective on things.
What is it with those wimpy assed m-feRs ?
It seems to me that every time they’re caught-up in their own irony, they bawl like wittle babies.
Remember? “The Boner” was dribbling not so long ago too.
Gotta be a psych 101 problem of some sort.
Like getting picked on in school or something ?
These traitors should be tried for treason and the maximum sentence applied. But the traitor just loses a job, gets resurrected in 4-8 years as a Dept. of Justice official after a lucrative lawyer-lobbyist gig at some Enron type company.
I’m glad people are finally able to call the fundimentalist what they really are: Nazi theocrats.
