Tim Griffin, former Karl Rove protege, former interim US Attorney from Arkansas and felonious vote cager, finally answered some charges in a speech yesterday in Arkansas. Apparently, he welled up with tears at various points in his presentation — “crying as he said he had no plans to return to politics,” reported AP — to the point that the person who forwarded us the articles on the matter, said we should “call him a wahhhhmbulance.”
We’d never be so cruel as to say or report any such thing, of course. That, despite the thousands of voters that Griffin sought to keep from exercising their franchise in America in 2004. During a time of war, no less. All to benefit his Republican paymasters.
AP reports that Timmy says that he plans to stay in Little Rock to “open a ‘bipartisan’ public affairs firm.” We’re sure he does.
Concerning the vote caging charges — the ones based on the pre-2004 emails he sent, with the subject line “Re: caging,” which included spreadsheet attachments with the names of thousands of minority (read: Democratic-leaning) voters he’d hoped the GOP would challenge at the polls, including folks in the military serving overseas, by the way — Arkansas Business reports the former US Attorney is in denial:
Some evidence for the “made up of whole cloth” charges, including some of Griffin’s email, is available in this earlier BRAD BLOG exclusive from Greg Palast, who tells us he may have some more comments for us tomorrow on all of this. (UPDATE: Palast’s comments on “Tears of a Clone” now here…)
The audio of Griffin’s full speech (bring kleenex) is below…

UPDATE: 6/26/07 Video of part of Griffin’s speech is now available at BRAD BLOG.

Like the bushies have any credibility at all anyway.
Gonzales at the Department of
JusticeJust Us has begun to use the (I believe illegal from the getgo) technique republicans falsely sneaked into a 109th Congress bill. That fraudulent provision allows Gonzales to appoint “interim” US Attornies.
They are so “interim” that Gonzales can keep it going indefinitely:
(Raw Story).
Meanwhile back at NASA where science is supposed to prevail, a bipartisan congressional committee just referred high ups there for criminal prosecution for obstruction of justice, the bushie mantra:
(Raw Story, emphasis added).
What will surprise the hell out of me is if we ever find a bushie administrative department that does not use obstruction of justice as its behavior map.
Their modus operandi seems to be to do so much crime that no one will believe any regime would do “that much” crime, and the public would then begin to doubt their accusers.
If Griffin didn’t do anything wrong, why did he resign his position?
If you’re going to hang out with the likes of Rove, don’t be surprised that you’ve pissed off people by your illegal activities. You have yourself and Karl Rove to blame, not your victims.
Rove’s next.

Last night, Jon Stewart played a video of Tony Snow 3 months ago saying the DOJ firings were “performance related”; then played a video of him recently saying that he never said that. Then Stewart put the videos side-by-side. Why can’t ANBCBSNNX do that? And just show what LIARS these creeps are?
Dan
I think that video would be way toooo long for ant “news” hour! 😉
Perhaps they still think they know who “the people” are?
The “moral majority” concept was controversial, yet swallowed by faux snooze, the “liberal media” concept was controversial, yet swallowed by faux snooze, and now “conservative america” is being swallowed by faux snooze. And then puked out as Big Dan‘s post #3 shows.
But this report is au contrare and brand’s “conservative america” as a myth. And it has good source material:
(Conservative America Is A Myth). This is one clear reason that the neoCons are whistling in the dark when they use the phrase “the people” and mean “conservative america” by that phrase.
Another one bites the dust..
Boo fu**ing Hoo… Cry me a river timmy….
(Gasp!) He actually referred to what he was doing as “caging” in an e-mail?!! And he graduated from a U.S. law school?!!!
Either he’s extraordinarily stupid, extraordinarily naive, or he completely slept through any lectures on legal vs. illegal activities.
How many more are there in the JD just like him?! Man, this isn’t about the fox watching over the hen house, but rather, the baby chicks watching over the hen house, while being paid by the foxes who plan to eat all of them.
it’s true, Timmeh… “it’s not worth it” because “crime doesn’t pay”.
Well, TMI, Tim… and he states plainly early on that he found honesty too confusing. So it’s all settled.
I watched the speech last night. It was rather amazing that it was given at the “Clinton School” and he kept referring to his Democratic roots and how he was interviewed for a Rhodes Scholarship by several people including Hillary Clinton.
He kept failing at getting jobs, but one thing he kept doing well was trying for different jobs every 6 months or so and filling up his resume. How he failed right to the White House is strange. Well, in the era of Dubya (a failure if there ever was one), maybe it’s not so strange.
Perhaps the oddest thing about his story was how he kept trying to return to Arkansas but kept getting lured away to great job offers. The man just doesn’t seem to have control of his life.
His statement that he knew the law, but he wasn’t sure it applied to the President was revealing and quite disturbing.
If his e-mails show he talked about caging votes and then he publicly denied it one can only draw a sad conclusion: the man is a liar AND a lawyer and a Republican. That’s 3 strikes and he should be OUT.
Now, if we could only show he was more connected to the Clintons…
Pasty Grover Norquist clone. Not good!
How about putting Jessie Ventura on the Keith Olbermann show. Jessie was scammed by MSNBC for being too truthful. Prove me wrong.
Did someone mention clones? Anyone remember that old movie, “Boys from Brazil”? All the clones were little Hitlers? But it was Hollywood so they were relatively good looking little Hitlers.
I keep thinking of that when I look at all the pudgy, soft GOP white boys, like Rove, Bartlett, Griffen – even Gonzales, (yeah, yeah, I know he’s Latino, but he’s still a pudgy soft GOP white boy). And if you can find a photo of Cheney from the 70’s, you’d see the earlier generation of the same thing.
They’re like a bad clone nightmare. Where are they growing them, Area 51?
Come to think of it, they do look like a bad hybrid of Dick Cheney and the big headed aliens that crashed in Roswell in the 40’s.
That would certainly explain their inability to understand human concepts of morality and ethics, as well as their “unusual” sexual preferences for breeding with each other………
Well it was an AWFULLY long-winded speech. The kind you give when you know that you’ve been caught doing something wrong and want to save your hide. I found much of it extremely defensive in tone (as in, “who, me?”)
These Bushies take sleaze to a whole new level.
So we are expected to believe a U.S. atorney had to look up caging to find out what it meant? Then why did he have it on his e-mail? Just stalling for time till the scandal is forgotten or he comes up with a good excuse.
Hey Tim – BITE ME, you f***ing liar. Your kind is exactly why we can never trust the government – certainly not THIS government.
You are a two-bit whore!
The crying from guys like this are far from over…get ’em Greg!
The Bush gang is a criminal enterprise and should be indicted under the RICO statutes after being impeached. Unfortunately, the chief law enforcement officer in the United States is a member of the gang.
These people are more dangerous to the United States than any terrorist group. I am reminded of the old gang tactic of trashing a store by members of the gang, and then going back in and collecting protection money so it won’t happen again. In this case this gang creates the conditions to foment rage against the USA, and then it and its cronies collect billions of our dollars protecting us from the consequences.
They are without any morality or principles, the worse type of predators, for they do not do it to survive. They maim and kill to satisfy their own warped psyche.
IMPEACH THEM NOW!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m willing to say maybe, but the emails of the list sent from him is something he didn’t refute. Sure his dad took a stand but where does he take a stand. The fact that he changed parties at a time that many especially in the south switched, substantially for race also makes me wonder.
If you really care about civil rights you don’t send lists of people to stop their votes. It’s
oldnew fashion intimidation. If you can’t keep them from voting by force use ruse but by any means stop them from voting.
