In one of his most shamefully transparent swiftboat attacks yet, Bill O’Reilly twisted and perverted the comments of 29-year U.S. Army Colonel Ann Wright last Friday, for having the temerity to explain that when Americans parade their own prisoners of war before the cameras, it’s difficult to have the “moral high ground” in making the case that Iran has violated the Geneva Convention by doing similarly with their captured British troops.
For the record, Wright spent years educating troops on the Geneva Convention at Fort Bragg and understands it cold (unlikely, O’Reilly). She also spent 16 years in the diplomatic corps before resigning in protest as the Iraq War began. I interviewed her on the illegalities of the war while at Camp Casey in Crawford, TX, in August of 2005. Her explanation was exceedingly enlightening. Whenever bully Bill O’Reilly becomes flummoxed and at a loss for words responding to someone far superior than himself in debating abilities and intellect, he has no choice but to cut the guest’s microphone. What other choice does he have to attempt to save face? He is otherwise powerless and appears a fool when faced by people like Wright.
Any veteran who can watch this piece-of-rabbit-shit-idiot after this should have his/her head examined. Not that any do.
Someone should ask this pompous, foolish man if the Germans should have “started to dislike (their) own country” during the Nazi period. Of course, I realize that the comparison would be lost on him.
I was at a non-political event this evening and got into a conversation with a thoughtful and intelligent, elderly woman. She made the comment to me that, in all of her long life, the past several years, under this regime, has been the only time she has been embarrassed to be an American when traveling in other countries. I have no doubt that sentiment is held by many. No one should be afraid or reluctant to stand up to cowardly traitors to the American ideal, like O’Reilly, and admit that they don’t like what this country has become while people like him have held sway! No one is required to love his/her country when it becomes an unjust and withered version of what it was meant to be.

I love it when these paid pundits show how truly stupid they are. What is frightening is how many listeners they reach and it is that group that pays their salary.
Just as I said, in another thread, at lunch Limbaugh starts his show off, “Guess what Pelosi did?” “Guess what the Democrats did?” And he and one of his callers were saying the Dems and Al Queda are together.

I wonder if she were allowed to control the interview and asked O’Lielly about how he felt about the Republican delegation visiting Syria and whether it was sending Syria the wrong message. And how many want to bet that O’Lielly would try to mention Pelosi in the context of HIS response to that. I wonder how he would feel if Wright would then say “We’re only asking you about the behavior of this Republican delegation, NOT Ms. Pelosi. ANSWER the question I posed to you so that we can have you on record as to what you feel about that?”
Perhaps that would illustrate to O’Lielly how his inquisitions only make sense to idiots like himself and not to those that actually can think. Too bad we can’t put him in that awkward sort of corner too.
We need O’Reilly. He flawlessly epitomizes intentional division fostered by the rabid right of the Bush Reich. Nazi Bill already called for the arrest of those who publicly express dissent with the Iraq war because it “undermines” the “War on Terror.”
Fascist O’Reilly knows exactly what he’s doing parroting select quotes from Herr Bush’s deliberate disinformation campaign by repeating terms such as “Iraq war” and “War on Terror” in the same breath. It’s the same old tired rhetoric Herr Bush used by using “911” and “Iraq” in the same sentence.
The disgraced president of the United States of AmeriKa is having great difficultly accepting the fact he already lost this war. He’ll get more Americans killed before the next president comes along and cleans up his trail of death and bloodshed, or he’ll pull out and declare victory before his term is up. But hey, all is not lost. Halliburton stock is climbing each day and has a year long forecast of reaching 40 bucks per share. It should hit that easily, especially after Herr Bush attacks Iran. Same can be said for Blackwater, Kellogg, Root and Brown.
Meanwhile, the Bush machine continues to suck dry the ever-shrinking middle class America.
