Michael Richardson, in an article posted to The BRAD BLOG, writes, “Hours after reports last week on threatened subpoenas against the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) and its banned voting machine test laboratory, CIBER, Inc., by the New York State Board of Elections, the company supplied information concerning its lack of accreditation to New York officials. Enraged NY State Election Commissioner Doug Kellner called the secret reports “soiled laundry” that both the company and EAC had been trying to hide. Friday, the EAC reacted to the disclosure by CIBER of confidential EAC documents by releasing the assessment reports upon which last summer’s decision for non-accreditation of CIBER was based. The documents, kept secret by the EAC for half a year, reveal a shocking level of incompetence and negligence by the “independent testing authority” (ITA) lab which tested electronic voting machines used by 68.5% of the registered voters in the November 2006 election.”…

    1. On the second link, iBetas Carolyn Coggins worked for systest not too long ago and like Shawn Southworth, was an ex-offcio of the NASED Voting systems board

      Sooo incestuous

    2. Why does it have to be such trouble and time to get the bottom of this information?

      Enough of this stalling.
      Hold these people responsible now.

Why do we need a damn subpoena for every damned thing with these people!?

      Remove this damned compartmentalization.

While they stall, others simultanously destroy more and more of America.

    3. They have been aware of the weakness in the process and the machines for two decades at least.

Diebold knows full well how to make secure ATM’s and other security devices, so when are we going to figure out that the current state of affairs is a deliberate effort of the hidden portions of government to rig elections when they need to rig one?

    4. IMO Dredd, nobody wants to stick their head into that hole in the wall yet, they might come out without one

      Wheres the Kennedy/Pap qui-tam…hmmm ?

    5. Correct me if I am wrong but I believe that the HBO program “Hacking Democracy” (can be viewed on “You Tube”) follows a team visiting a testing authority were a small office containing one guy talks about the “tests” given to the voting machines.

It looked to me like the “testing” was paperwork only. No real examination of the machines ever took place. All the “testing” authority did was make sure that the paperwork from the manufacturer was in order. Were handbooks for operating the machines available? that kind of thing. No actual examination of the software was ever done or considered.

It looked like the voting machine was turned on and a simple test election run and if the output agreed with the input that was “good” enough. What happened inside the machine or the security of the software was never addressed.

Yep. They are watching us, and Lemme say this so I don’t loose my head, your suspicions are valid.

On the Kennedy/Pap qui-tam, it has been a long time, and we should be updated. I wonder if Brad has been updated yet? I doubt it because he would have let us know. That means, to me, absent Brad’s knowledge of it from Kennedy, that something ungood is afoot.
