Democratic party leaders are planning to seek a two-hour extension for voting in Denver, due to massive computer problems which have created long lines, and kept many from casting their vote.
…
The problems began right at 7 a.m. as computer problems at the voter-check in stations bogged down, creating a bottleneck in the first hour of voting as a rush to the polls overloaded the system.
…
At Denver Botanic Gardens, more than 200 voters backed up in a line that stretched out of the gates and down the block more than half way to 11th Avenue.

“We will not get to vote today,” said a frustrated Lauren Brockman as he left the Botanic Gardens.
He lined up at 6:45 a.m. hoping to beat the rush, only to stand in line for close to an hour before leaving.
But an hour wait was short, compared to some.

Great work as usual Brad. I just heard an update on this story in Colorado on MSNBC. State Democratic attorneys are filing in court for a two hour extension. No word yet on a decision by the court. I heard this morning that 70 precincts couldn’t open on time because of trouble loading the memory cards…apparently. Same old, same old.
correction to my above comment. The 70 precincts were in Indiana.
Two hour, blah!
A second DAY of voting would be great, because it would break the idea that all this voting MUST be accomplished on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November.
So far, it looks like we are winning so big they won’t be able to steal it, but don’t give up yet.
VOTE. VOTE. VOTE. Fight for your right to vote NO MATTER WHAT.
If you get to the polls and they won’t let you vote, call the 800# and get help.
Fight for this gift that hundreds of thousands have died for you to have and that billions around the world WISH they had: a chance to change your government without bloodshed.

I’m amazed by the lack of shame of those who are trying to cheat our voting system. What is the matter with you people? Have you no sense of right and wrong? Jail seems to be a good remedy for such people.

The Ghost of Rush Limbaugh strikes again:
“Calif: Signal snafu broadcasts (R) political ad (over Emergency Alert System)
… As a result, KFBK’s regular programming — in this case, the ads — took over the airwaves at radio stations in 17 Northern California counties, and perhaps even the audio of some television stations.”
KFBK was the station Rush was at when worked out of Sacramento.
“Rush” right out and vote a straight Democratic ticket!

Get this! The National GOP web site is already making excuses why the exit polls will show more Democratic votes than are actually made. Check it out, but here is my copy of their ridiculous claims. It says to me that they have their operatives in place to steal votes:

RESEARCH BRIEFINGS
As noted in the Ohio thread.. what kind of morons didn’t have paper set up for a backup in case this happened?
I live in Colorado and I’m disgusted that those in charge of this state are so completely incompetent.
This country needs a serious wakeup call. The masses are just too fat and ignorant.
From the RNC web site:
Hey I want some of that good stuff to smoke!
correction in my above.. Utah, not Ohio.. lol.. who can keep track with SO MANY BLUNDERS IN SO MANY PLACES….
LOL…. what a cluster!
Someone explain how “exit polling malfunctions”.. that’s rich!
LMFAO.. is that like a wardrobe malfunction?
To quote “SevenStrings” comment on C& L.
“An e-voting machine is like my bowels: they both “generally appear to run smoothly”, and their resultant outputs have about the same intrinsic value.”
The Denver judge denied the two-hour extension for polling places.

Fight for your rights USA, if you descend into a one-party state there is that much less hope for other democracies.
The republican secretary of state took Denver’s predominantly democratic 300 or so voting precincts and cut them down to 55 pathetic “voting centers”. The lines are 2-3 hours long, with 1/2 an hour left for voting. When I voted this afternoon around 2pm, the wait was one hour and less than half the machines were in use. The entire Denver city voting system went down for 20 or so minutes and tons of people walked away when they were told how long the wait would be (45 min-1 hr) then. According to KHOW radio talk show Craig Silverman, he voted in the predominantly republican suburbs and there was no waiting at all (Denver Post reported some in suburbs). Looks like the SOS’s plan when off without a hitch, following Ohio SOS Blackwell’s strategy: Disenfranchise the dems. Since Blackwell lost tonight, I predict he will be investigated until the cows come home, and I home he does some time in the big house (and I don’t mean W’s).
