Ohio Rep. Bob Ney (R-Abramoff) has finally resigned from Congress this afternoon, nearly a month after pleading guilty to two felony charges of conspiracy and making false statements, and mere days before the most contentious midterm elections in recent memory.
In a call to Congressional Quarterly, Ney said, “I’m done with everything I wanted to complete.” (That would include pulling down one more monthly paycheck of more than $12,400.) His congressional collegues had promised to expel Ney upon return from the Election Recess on Nov. 13.
Former Rep. Bob Ney is the first Congressman to be convicted in the ever-widening Jack Abramoff influence-peddling scandal, which has ensnared a number of his Republican colleagues, staffers, aides, and other government officials on Capitol Hill.
He is now a felon who is no longer allowed to vote under Ohio law. Nonetheless, the voters of America are now stuck with the disastrous electronic voting systems instituted by his Help America Vote Act (HAVA), which he pushed through Congress in 2002.

Guess he took the phrase, “Go forth and multiply” a little too loosely. Well, glad to know he’s happy about his life’s accomplishments. Proud family he must have. Damn good job Ney! Still, it’s time for hell, move along, don’t Delay.
One by One!
Another one’s gone
Another one’s gone
Another one bites the dust.
Heckuva job Bobby!
10 thugs with 10 shanks visit his prison cell and put him out of his misery. This is from America for the Democracy you trashed. (Poetic) justice.
Why isn’t this guy going to prison for wrecking our democracy. Did he make some kind of deal?
He isn’t going to be in the can for long. We should organize a homecoming party for him, the day he gets out of jail.
Prison Check List
1) K-Y Jelly Extra Large “Extended” family size
2) Preparation “H”
3) Kevlar Condoms
4) Case of Depends
5) Soap on a rope
6)

Prison is too humane for scum like Ney, Abramoff, Feeney and all the Cheney/Bush crime syndicate goons, but at least the law is still sufficiently in place to protect them from true justice. But we can’t just flush once. The Cheney/Bush crime and murder racket itself and the complicit VichyDems must go swirling down the drain as well. That would take a heck of a colonic, but we have GOT to make it happen.
If he does go to jail it will be one of those lush cream puff facilities complete with an 18-hole golf course for outdoor exercise. Bastards.
OT,.. sorta
Can the Diebold fraud machine overcome this Republican Party three ring circus of hypocracy,.. and actually pull off a win for this 2006 election ?
If yes,.. KKKarl Rove is truly a wizard miricle worker. This cesspool of raw sewerage from the house of bu$$hco must sicken their voting base big time.

I hope you’re wrong about these guys going to a real prison, but at least I heard Jeffery Skilling of Enron will be going to one. And for a long time too!
Because Ney is in the congress, you’re probably right. I still wish more people knew he messed up our elections and could possibly send the country into chaos, because I think most of us think he got a free golf trip.
Man!
A wrecked Democracy and HAVA aren’t the only things we’re stuck with …. aren’t we also stuck with a pension for this prick? I was under the impression that once they are in Congress, they get their retirement/pensions no matter what.. like the indicted Tom Delay..
Funny that he can say, as a disgraced criminal and crook “I’m done with everything I wanted to complete.”, and people don’t stop and say “oh, you wanted to fuck up our country and make it a less free place to live? Isn’t that kind of like treason when you set out to undermine the Constitution and it’s protections?”.
