I have been so busy (doing nothing) that I didn’t even notice how long — and how far down the page — the most recent open thread is. Ah, life!

Fortunately, Agent 99 sent me a gentle reminder that it’s about time for a new one — and a great pic to get us started.

There’s a lot of weird geopolitical stuff going on these days, but this is weird too:

Unheralded Japanese golfer Yusaku Miyazato made history Friday by becoming the first person to make two holes-in-one in the same round of a PGA tournament.

The first hole-in-one came when Miyazato used a 4-iron to ace the 220-yard seventh hole. He followed that by using a 7-iron to ace the 186-yard 12th hole.

Hey WP! So busy doing nothing… NICE!!! Damn the oxymorons, dull speed ahead. I had a computer once that fried its CPU and hard drive – I got at least some of my money back. Isn’t there some similar provision for pretzel-inhaling dildoes-in-chief?

My favorite subject, voting machine testing, propaganda (about how good they are) and distribution

“SAIC board members Admiral Bill Owens (former military aide to Dick Cheney), and ex-CIA chief Robert Gates, who was implicated in the Iran-Contra scandal of the 1980s, also serve on the board of VoteHere, a growing elections software company. SAIC itself is producing electronic voting systems in partnership with Diversified Dynamics.”

Is there anything that would wake up Bush supporters, I wonder ?

First Bush had “no idea someone would fly planes into hi rises.”

Then Katrina caught FEMA off guard, even tho planning had been going on late 2004 and LA governor requested addtional help from the Feds upon seeing how huge Katrina was.

Strange that Bush gets a pass on every disaster because “he just wasn’t prepared.”

Now last Monday Bush admits Iraq “had nothing” to do with 9/11.

AND NO ONE EXCEPT THE INTERNET BRINGS THIS UP !!!!

I admit I turned off much TV with all the John Mark Karr crap. Is it really necessary to tell us what he drank on First Class returning to the U.S.

But still did Bush’s latest gaffe get covered any where ? Someone please tell me it did.

USA MSM gives voyeurism and bigotry full play,.. information of true national significance ignored. Is it any wonder 50% of the US population thinks Iraq/Saddam had WMD’s or involved in 9/11.

    RENO residents, mark your calendars!
I’m not quite sure how all the clamoring for rummy’s resignation transmogrified into him getting an AWARD, but you might want to show up for this:

“Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld will speak Aug. 28 in Reno at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Convention.

Rumsfeld is receiving the VFW’s distinguished service award during a banquet at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino, formerly the Reno Hilton, headquarters for the organization’s 107th convention…”

Bring some resignation forms, maybe. And a nice big RUMSFAILED banner. 🙂

Its so much fun when you find shit like this,
“Clearly one of the themes going around is related to collusion among industry sources, so any meeting of all the players is, by definition… unfortunately taken by some people as not a constructive exercise, but one of negative exercise. So, it would probably be best as Doug suggested, that it would be better that we pay you to do that.” Link

    and this,
“Participants asked if a task force composed of defense contractors and defense procurement contractors could help them “again” like they did with HAVA. They mentioned Lockheed (weapons contractor) and Northrop Grumman (defense contractor) and Accenture (defense procurement contractor). They discussed that these companies were the driving force behind the HAVA bill, which requires purchase of new electronic voting systems and also purchase of new, statewide, electronic voter registration.” Link

Anyone have any follow up on Chris Bollyn’s article that said the two abducted Israeli soldiers were inside Lebanon? I haven’t heard a peep about it on MSM (not that I expected to haha) but I haven’t had any backup info from other sources. I’m fully willing to believe Bollyn, especially after he was roughed up on account of it, but there has to be some secondary support somewhere.

The other day the local morning news gave full coverage of bush’s speech and press conference. Lots about him “staying the course” and “not while I’m the president deciderer”.
Not a single word about his admissions that there were no WMD in Iraq and that Sadam had nothing to do with 9/11!

Bob Kincaid did a pretty cool show the other night, with a couple of guests talking about the Fundamentalist Christian problem. The show is three hours long, but you can skip the first twenty minutes to half hour and the last hour, and just listen to his two guests. The second guest might give you a clue about Katherine Harris’s religious views.

My 2 kids are going to college, we just moved my daughter in as a freshman, my son is a junior. They will both be starting off life with $50-80,000.00 debt. How can they pay that off, get a house, get married, and start a family? The money for a house will be the cost of their college debt!!! When did this happen? There is like NO financial aid any more. Cheaper community colleges don’t offer the majors they want. I guess this makes the military more appealing to low/middleclass kids. That’s probably the plan.

My wife went to a local community college because it was very inexpensive. But it was only a 2 year program after which she would have to go to the State College which cost hundreds of dollars per unit. Since she was working full time she took about 4 1/2 years to complete the program and get her AA. Upon going to enroll in the state college she found that some of her course no longer counted because she had taken too long.
At that point she threw up her hands and gave up. She now is still classified as a Teachers Aid and is paid 33% of what a teacher is even though she runs her program including an assistant under her and is only overseen by a teacher who OK’s her program outline but is not even in the room.

Nice BBV links,.. enjoyed the read. Locate a lobbyist
to protect the interests of the “voting industry.”

Also too Choicepoint in conjunction with Accenture came up with the bogus voter scrub lists,.. ie,.. bogus felons – purge list,.. bogus invalidly registered voter – purge list,… bogus HAVA mandated purge list.

    =====================

Purge,..suppress,.. disenfranchise as many Democratic Party voters as possible,.. keep them out of the election booth at all costs and the Republicans can easily win elections as Paul M. Weyrich stated sometime ago.( about Democratic Party voter suppression).

Paul M.Weyrich, co-founder of the Heritage Foundation,.. the Free Congress Foundation,.. and one of the primary founders of the right-wing Christian Fundamentalist Fascist movement,… was taped while speaking in private, at a church, to Republican activists:

“How many of our Christians have what I call the goo-goo syndrome? Good government! They want everybody to vote! I don’t want everybody to vote. Elections are not won by a majority of people, they never have been from the beginning of our country and they are not now. As a matter of fact, our leverage in the elections, quite candidly, goes up as voting populace goes down.”

The Republican Party has turned Democratic Party voter suppression and disenfranchisement into a well practiced art and science,.. while the Democratic Party does zero to curtail this illegal conduct. Demos win elections ? Hardly,.. the percentage the Rethugs illegally shave off,.. causing Demos inability to place a valid vote,.. is the percentage the Demos need to prevail as the winners of an election. They are nibbling away at our total eligible vote count to skew the numbers by design,.. making it impossible for the Dems to achieve victory at the ballot box. And nothing is done to remedy this illegal scam to game the vote result and hijack democracy,.. giving habitual control of our government to these greedy fascist warmongers.

Hmmmm…isn’t THIS interesting…not at all surprising, but interesting…this is a quote from

“…John Ashcroft, in 1997, arguing against expanded Federal Government surveillance powers in the wake of the Oklahoma City terrorist attack:

The Clinton administration wants government to be able to read international computer communications – financial transactions, personal e-mail and proprietary information sent abroad – all in the name of national security . . .

Why…should we grant government the Orwellian capability to listen at will and in real time to our communications across the Web?

The protections of the Fourth Amendment are clear. The right to protection from unlawful searches is an indivisible American value. . . .

Every medium by which people communicate can be exploited by those with illegal or immoral intentions. Nevertheless, this is no reason to hand Big Brother the keys to unlock our e-mail diaries, open our ATM records or translate our international communications.”

It’s so much worse when you’re looking for stuff they really don’t want you to know, but even looking for a damn recipe can give you a headache online.

Seems we have some neo-matrix citizens popping up over to the thread about investigators suddenly dying strangely. What’s wrong with people?

And I hear Alda beat Shatner, which is awful, because Alda could walk through his West Wing gig, but Shatner has transcended all to bring us Denny Crane. He’s no longer the wooden Kirk. He’s finally someone with zing and dash and crackling insane humor.

Stewart could beat Colbert, only because the Correspondents’ Dinner doesn’t really qualify for that Emmy…. That’s okay.

The American and British MSM will be happy talk propaganda about how clean the Mexican election was run. The “leftist” candidate should stop all unsupported contentions of fraud and concede the election to the (fascist) neo-conservative. Hoping does not make it so.

The clock is rapidly running out in Mexico. August 31 the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (AKA-TRIFE) must conclude its election/ballot review process. By September 6 this past election must be declared invalid or a winner must be announced. On September 1 Vicente Fox must give his State of the Union Address.
If the Mexican neo-cons continue to ignore implications of fraud and do not invalidate this election and persist upon installing Felipe Calderon there will be a street revolution in Mexico. Fox and Calderon will unleash the riot police and the military,.. a major bloodbath could ensue.

The story of the Greek cellphone intercept equipment found at Vodafone Company by Kostas Tsalikidis who was supposed to have committed suicide by hanging himself. That story is exploding with new facts and details. The family has hired an attorney and someone has stepped forward to communicate with the attorney to say Tsalikidis was murdered because he knew too many details of the phone wiretaps. Such as who perpetrated the wiretaps,.. how extensive and pervasive it was and who specifically were the intended targets. This mystery person with the information promised more details to the lawyer in ten days. As usual the American media has little details
the Greek media is starting to delve into the odd details,.. there seems to be a much more significant story than has thus far been told. Are the neocons and fascists behind/implicated in this European wiretap operation ?

Someone has started a Wikipedia web entry of the details of the unfolding Tsalikidis/Vodafone wiretap/intercept story. Hopefully it will be updated as more details become available.

Just a little ditty I came across while scrounging around the network:

“The Official George W. Bush Inaugural Song
(Sung to the tune of the BEVERLY HILLBILLIES theme song)

Come and listen to my story ’bout a boy name Bush.
His IQ was zero and his head was up his tush.
He drank like a fish while he drove all about.
But that didn’t matter ‘cuz his daddy bailed him out.
DUI, that is. Criminal record. Cover-up.

Well, the first thing you know little Georgie goes to Yale.
He can’t spell his name but they never let him fail.
He spends all his time hangin’ out with student folk.
And that’s when he learns how to snort a line of coke.
Blow, that is. White gold. Nose candy.

The next thing you know there’s a war in Vietnam.
Kin folks say, “George, stay at home with Mom.”
Let the common people get maimed and scarred.
We’ll buy you a spot in the Texas Air Guard.
Cushy, that is. Country clubs. Nose candy.

Twenty years later George gets a little bored.
He trades in the booze, says that Jesus is his Lord.
He said, “Now the White House is the place I wanna be.”
So he called his daddy’s friends and they called the GOP.
Gun owners, that is. Falwell. Jesse Helms.

“Don’t let those colored folks get into the polls.”
So they put up barricades so they couldn’t punch their holes.
Chads, that is. Duval County. Miami-Dade.

Before the votes were counted five Supremes stepped in.
Told all the voters “Hey, we want George to win.”
“Stop counting votes!” was their solemn invocation.
