In the lawsuit, the county seeks $925,074 in damages from UniLect of Dublin, Calif., for the company’s Patriot touch-screen voting machines.
The machines were in use in the 2004 presidential election in Mercer County, where votes were apparently lost.
In April of 2005, we reported on those machines, the UniLect Patriots, being decertified in PA.
Previously, on November 4, 2004 — two days after the Presidential Election — we reported that more than 4,500 votes were completely lost on the same machines in Carteret County, NC.
That same day, in the same report, we discussed the same machines in use in Ohio on Election Day.
While the incident in NC led to new laws in the state requiring full source-code submission to the state by Electronic Voting Machine vendors, and the problems in PA have led to state decertification and now a lawsuit against the company, we’re aware of no action that has ever been taken by the state of OH to investigate what might have happened and whether or not votes were similarly lost on UniLect Patriot machines in the Buckeye state that same night.
Good thing what happened in OH on November 2, 2004 wasn’t all that important.

That is something often missed … the machines were intended to make elections less expensive.
That has not panned out.
It is less expensive and more reliable to have hand counts and recounts.
And there is no way to calculate the loss of election integrity, never knowing who won simply by official declarations of who won … which are at odds with the exit polls.
Freedom can’t be expressed in monitary terms like elections can.

The Boner v McDermott lawsuit has been in the courts for years, having gone all the way to the US Supreme court, and back.
Here is one decision in that case which held that Florida law did not apply (link here).
I had wondered why Boner had a tic, and your link indicates that he was a plastic man before becoming a member of congress. That explains a lot.
Boner obviously does not like leaks that go against him, but would welcome leaks that did not.
Boner is a strong member of the republican dictatorship destroying this nation as well as other nations of the world.

Admit it Brad, without paper ballots and hanging chads, the elections become more fair and you guys can’t call for recount after recount after recount until your guy wins (tried it with GORE and lost, tried it in Seattle with Gregoire and finally won thanks to King County and them finding 200 votes under this machine, 500 in this closet etc…until she won.) Sure there can be a "Possibility" of screwing with the software on the machine, but you can screw with any medium of counting votes. Besides, putting on new software would show up on the machine for one thing, and 2, they dont update that fast or that easily. Someone would be caught doing it very very easily.

The diebold machines may be able to be manipulated, but every form of voting can be manipulated, your election staffs just cant spend the night before filling out blank ballots the night before an election using diebold machines.
