I don’t usually talk about my dreams, much less write about them. They’re usually so unintelligible they don’t even interest me. But last night I had a dream that seemed very clear.
In my dream, I called CNN and said “When are you going to interrupt your normal programming to cover tomorrow’s terrorist attacks?” … and the voice said “9:30” … and I said “that’s 9:30 Eastern, right? Tomorrow morning?” … and the voice said “That’s right, sir. 9:30 A.M. Eastern time tomorrow.”
The last time I checked the TV, it was nearly noon eastern time, and CNN was still talking about Cindy Sheehan and the price of oil … and something about an actress … and something about an athlete. This is good. We need them to keep talking about stuff like this all day.
My, how times have changed! Just a few months ago I was pointing out, derisively, the amount of attention CNN was giving to the trial of a former pop singer. Today I’d be happy if they talked about that trial all day, just as long as they don’t interrupt their normal programming for live coverage of the terrorist attacks, and the new nuclear war.
What’s that, you say? Have I lost my mind? Well maybe I have, but that has nothing to do with this. 😉
In case you haven’t noticed, the internet has been abuzz lately with talk of impending terror attacks against the USA, on a scale heretofore unimaginable; such attacks to trigger the imposition of martial law at home and a full-scale, conventional and nuclear, attack on Iran. And according to some sources, the attack was supposed to come — if it did come — today.
After that dream, I couldn’t very well sleep, and I’ve been checking the TV regularly — something I never do — just to see what CNN is doing. Everything seems absolutely normal. So I’m starting to believe that one of the following things may be true:
- The dream was wrong. Hey, sue me! It happens to everybody.
- The whole story was a hoax. There were no “distracting” war games on 9/11. There was no terror-response drill going on in London on 7/7. All the stories about Operation Northwoods were hoaxes too. Move along, folks. There’s nothing to see here.
- They’ve changed the date and/or the time of the attack, and we are still in grave danger. What’s the probability of this one? I wouldn’t hazard a guess.
- They know we know, and it’s holding them at bay. How likely is this? I can’t estimate it; can’t see it clearly. I have a conflict of interest: I want to live a long and happy life, and I want the same for my kids.
That’s why I’m whispering. And it seems to me that maybe 6 or 7 other people are whispering along with me. And maybe … just maybe … if we whisper loud enough, we can keep the terrorists from striking again. Maybe.
LAST MINUTE UPDATE: The kids are home now, and I don’t have access to the TV. That’s all right with me, as long as the internet connection is working. And I can see from CNN’s home page that everything is still normal; there’s fresh carnage in Baghdad but none here. Oh yawn!
And by the way, who will be the next James Bond?
Seems like all’s quiet on the eastern front, so far. However, I still am not sleeping well, they’ve got NorthCom’s AlaskaShield/ Northern Edge exercises going on all week as well – August 15 – 19th- over on the Western Front….Gotta keep on whisperin’. Thanks for a good piece WP!

I don’t imagine that such an evil plot could succeed. But for the record, Michael Savage was sniveling the other day about the ACLU. He was looking forward to another 9/11-style attack so that we could finally start shipping liberals off to Guantanamo.
Would you believe it!?! He actually said he’d like another attack if that’s what it would take to get the ACLU to be tried as traitors. So although I doubt that people could get very far from within our own government to wreak devastation on the American people without the intervention of at least one good soul… Michael Savage said it, live on the air, that he thinks we need to be hit again. So, evidently there are some Americans who don’t mind terrorist attacks if it would forward their right wing agenda.
Also remember that the right wing, with the bombings of black churches, the murders of black civil rights leaders and innocent bystanders alike, lynchings, gay-bashings, the Oklahoma City Bombing, and other atrocities throughout our history have brought terrorist acts against their fellow citizens. And remember people like Grover Norquist who relelntlessly assail our government as "the beast" and accuse the IRS for committing Nazi-style atrocities when referring to the estate tax or the fundamentalists who believe our own judicial system is worse than Osama bin Laden. And remember the craven GOP smear machine that attacks and shreds and insults veterans who dare to have opinions that differ from their. Remember the people that have been standing up for torture and executions and rule by force.
These people have emerged from the sewers to challenge terrorism because they, as Karl Rove put it, "understand it."

An evil plot of a very similar nature did succeed … and now the evil plotters are making plans to CELEBRATE on the 4th anniversary of their success. Imagine that!! 😉
I’ve had the same dream (nightmare).
In the book "The New Pearl Harbor", the author talks about Rumsfeld saying "I wouldn’t be surprised if the pentagon is next" and immediately after that the pentagon was hit. Then he said "It isn’t over yet" right before another building was hit.
With these rumblings about another attack, I feel it’s Rummy acting like he’s Mr. Psychic Magnifico.
The fact that the Busheviks are gathering in their hideaway ranch is deja vu about how they used that club house before the last attacks.
Is Cindy’s group throwing a wrench into the works? Is her presence there putting too much attention on who is coming and going from the ranch? They can’t bring in the masterminds because there is too much press, ergo, no attacks yet.

Winter – I posted a single message on political forum on a discussion board yesterday. It said, "Terror drills scheduled for tomorrow, August 17 – duck and cover" I think we’ve all been paying attention today, and unfortunately I don’t think we should let our guard down yet – even if today goes off without a hitch.
I understand about your dream, I have a recurring one that’s just eerie, has been coming off and on in the past year at least…not as scary as yours, but still….
First of all I’ve never been in battle so I fully admit that my vivid impressions of combat are only from movies and from growing up watching the reports from VietNam in the late 60’s/early 70’s.
It seems to happen more often during thunderstorms – I guess the sound triggers it. In the dream I am laying in my bed and I am awakened by the sound of shelling and the ground shaking. I walk through what is actually a window (in my dream, just a doorway). I won’t go into explicit detail about the carnage I see, but it’s as bad as you can imagine. There is so much blood I can taste it – it tastes like copper pennies in my mouth. (I know the smell well, I grew up in cattle country and the smell is like that of a slaughterhouse on a hot summer day)
The air is filled with smoke and screaming, everything’s burning, bodies everywhere. A soldier comes running up, dressed in a uniform like those worn by US soldiers in VietNam. He’s sweaty and bloody and dirty, and he stands in front of me with sweat and tears streaming down through the blood and mud on his face, and a rifle in his hand.
He stands there looking at me with such pain in his eyes, and as I stand there dazed, not comprehending, he looks around, then looks at me and says "Tell them it’s over"
I don’t know what it means, except that my subconcious is replaying the message that I’m worried and afraid and that even in my secluded little valley, I know I am not safe, not as long as the lunatics are in charge of the asylum.
Sleep well, friend…and trust that we’ve made enough noise and enough eyes are turned in that direction that they’ll call it off this time.
And we’ll keep whispering…
Well brad, you can at least go to sleep knowing that Operation Norwoods was indeed real. It was reported on by ABC News, and you can even read the actual documents here. It was when I read these and they discussed using remotely controlled planes that I concluded that 9.11 was indeed an inside job.
Surely there is someone in the military that can’t bomb his own country. And will step up and expose these terroists in Washington. Democratic underground has had some good stuff on the liklihood of another bombing. If you believe 9/11 was alquaeda excuse spelling, you have to be faith based.
I think Bush would wait until after his vacation, don’t you?

Damn! Kestrel, your dream sounds like something out of an ancient Greek tragedy. The oracle at Delphi would give some cryptic response such as the soldier does in your dream.
It could be taken two ways: Tell them it is over now or this is the devastation that will come. Or, it is already happening — the machine is in place — and this scene is as good as done (nothing can prevent it).
These dreams are so close to the things that I experience — but not just when I am asleep. Sometimes I find myself doing some simple task and seeing some horrible scene in my mind — or feeling a kind of "blast" that is reverberating from someplace else (yet I "feel" it).
I wonder if it is the results of 911 and the fears that linger, or if it is some kind of link to the future. Is it my fears for my children?
In the meantime, I go about my simple tasks and wonder if these chores are senseless. Maybe I should be spending my time burying some clues for future generations to find — some kind of warning to not be as stupid as we are today.

Ram – I’m not sure I believe in dreams as prophesy, but who knows? The dream bothers me enough to leave me badly shaken, and once I awaken, I know I won’t be sleeping any more that night.
And the visions – I think you hit the nail on the head, I think it’s lingering fear from what has happened before, combined with fear of what can happen, and worrying about how we’ll protect our children.
It’s not a bad idea to set up a contingency plan and a place for family members to meet, just in case. You should count on the possibility of being without communication and without electricity, and you don’t want to be running around looking for each other if the worst happens.
Just the act of sitting down together and talking out a plan gives a sense of control – a way to deal with fear.
If you don’t control fear, it will control you.

I think a very important thing to consider is WHAT IF "something" does happen? What would one do? After all, it would be obvious that it was not arabs or black islamic prison gangs (comeon, we all know they would LUV the tie-in), or ect. The perpetrators would be the heads of our on government.
Read the book 2014: an Orwellian Tale. The book discusses a decentralized "network" where people work in small groups, (a computer smart person, someone who researches, a recruiter, and an "action-person") to organize against a very oppressive government. I actually think we could utilize a similar framework & actually "piggy back" it off blogs. Well, thats just some thought for later.

Winter Patriot: I think the internet will stop any subsequent "terror attacks" (wink wink) in the U.S. I hope the internet is a-buzz with all upcoming terror attacks in the U.S. The internet may have stopped one, because thanks to Alex Jones and people like that, and Brad Blog, we’re now in "anticipatory" mode, not like when we were sucker punched on 9/11.
And, even though we were sucker-punched on 9/11, which was the "pearl harbor" – like attack to allow the PNAC agenda, all the good people are now going backward and outing this administration for being complicent in 9/11. It’s going to happen…there’s too much evidence and too many witnesses, they can’t control everybody, it’s impossible.
I fully believe our government was complicent with the 9/11 terror attacks. There’s mountains of evidence. I can’t believe otherwise! The most implausible theory on 9/11 is the one I heard where 19 Arab hijackers took a couple of plane lessons, took boxcutters, commandeered 4 jumbo jets for hours without getting shot down by NORAD protocol, and then 2 WTC buildings "imploding" textbook style from jet fuel (which is impossible). THAT’s the wildest tin-foil hat theory I’ve heard buzzing around!
agree with Winter Patriot in each detail. However, what happens when they interfere with Cisco’s routers and we don’t have an internet? I am very worried about all of these issues.

Very sobering post and comments. I can remember being a little kid doing the "Duck and Cover" drills. About the 2nd or 3th grade after watching many "20th Century" reruns justifying the use of nukes on Japan, it dawned on me that the destructive power of a nuke rendered the drill moot. Probably my first "Awakening" that the grownups were feeding me bullshit. Several years later I was reading the paper, got thru with the daily mayhem and read the comics. That day showed Dennis the Menace kneeling bedside saying his prayers……"Please God, don’t let them blow up the world before I get a chance to see the rest of it". I cut that strip out and saved it for many years. It is sad that 40 years later it is still relevant.
Everybody is talking about some kind of coming calamity and it’s quite alarming. There weren’t these kinds of messages just earlier today. The dreams of apocalypse might be worries or too much pastrami, but people have been known to be concerned and then something actually did happen. I hope it’s just a bad dream.
In the event of trauma a person’s subconscious perceives a tremendous lot more than the conscious mind can handle. Later when memories of the event are retrieved the person gets terribly nervous and maybe scared, shaky even. This is post-traumatic stress. Normally we endure very small stresses, not terribly traumatic. If the nation is stressed terribly then we might get through that day, but then begin suffering these later remembrances a few days later, even a month later. Breathe deeply, eat comfort foods, exercise, think nice thoughts of tranquil scenes, spend time with comforting friends. Rant and rave about Bush if it’s a calming thing. Definately post to this blog.
I’ve thought that the powers that be would like to have a government towards the geographic center of America, rather than on the East coast. Has anyone else here had that idea? And then someone goes and says the ‘control room’ is in Colorado. That’s ominous and disturbing.
Wasn’t there supposed to be some kind of trial of Karl Rove, or something. I’d rather be thinking happy thoughts like that.

I am having very erry feelings too. As I was falling asleep last night I woke up to a loud voice in my head saying, "Where is Dick Cheney"? Checked the internet today. He is in Montana today doing a little fishing via Airforce One and accompanied by two black hawk helicopters and tomorrow 8/18 heads to Missouri for some kind of military ceremony. And also noticed that today he is being put forward by oddsmakers in Vegas as the best bet for 2008. Maybe the coming of that announcement is what is creeping us all out. I think we can often feel things shifting before it actually manifests. I pray this a shift towards America waking up and mobilizing for peace. Who ever thought that a military take-over, which is what I think Winter Patriots dream could have been about, would be a best case scenario? Love and Peace to you all!

Hannah – Know what you mean about the coyotes. I sleep outside sometimes, and though I love the sounds, I have to admit, it really does sound almost human sometimes.
We have an emergency alert radio that stays on all the time because of the tornados here. They do regular tests on Wednesdays – and I have to tell y’all, when that damn thing went off yesterday, a shiver went through me.
I hate this.
I’m not an alarmist (hey, in this thread, it would be hard to one-up these frightening scenarios) but would one of the PLAYERS at Bradblog (and I’m going to suggest this to ALL our friends on the interent: afterdowningstreet.org, meetwithcindy.org, velvetrevolution.us, rawstory.com, truthout.org, buzzwatch.com, etc.) PLEASE POST YOUR IP ADDRESS ON YOUR FRONT PAGE.
This is very geeky, but the way they are going to "disrupt" the internet when they do whatever they do is by taking down the computers that translate http://www.bradblog.com into the actual machine numbers that let you find the website. Without it, you will get "page not found".
The administration recently refused to give up control of the machines (root DNS servers) that do this process, and I believe the reason is so that they can SELECTIVELY make our websites "disappear" when they do their acts of evil and the MSM doesn’t delve into them.
Everybody should have on a small business-card size piece of paper in their wallet (or next to their keyboard) the strange numbers that are REALLY where these important sites live.
Send them to me, and after checking them, I will create a master list.
This could be VERY important, as the blogosphere is really our only means of effectively communicating with each other, and if they can SELECTIVELY disable it (doing it en-masse would piss off too many corporations) they WILL.

I live out in the "country" and the other night the coyotes were yipping pretty close to our house at 2:30 am and scared the bejeebers outta me. One sounded downright human – devilishly human. Very creepy. I also have airplane crashing dreams sometimes. Very glad I’m not traveling anywhere by air now.
Mostly I’m glad for the internet and places like the BradBlog. Much information is getting out there – these cretins try another 9-11 and the public will have had it. Bush is at 42% and falling. Cheney is much lower. We have to keep spreading the word about these PNAC’ers, neocons, etc.
We may never know whether the "chatter" about a manufactured terror attack on the Charleston coast stopped or delayed the event, or was nothing more than reading too far into the news.
I’m inclined to believe the former rather than the latter.

Like the Bible, when first printed in multiple languages and taken from the hands of the Elite Clergy, the Internet takes information and Truth from the hands of the Gatekeepers into the hands of the common folk.
Through its populist nature the Internet is prone to inaccuracies, disinformation and ignorance. But the populist nature of the Internet also allows information to flow freely and gives the discerning observer the opportunity to find the deeper turth.
