The RAW STORY is reporting that Velvet Revolution, a coalition of over 120 activist organizations, is launching an advertising campaign aimed at the Bush Administration’s “lies, corruption, fear, incompetence, indifference, and arrogance.”

From the Velvet Revolution website:
…
These ads will appear in newspapers, magazines, billboards, transit shelters, bus and rail cars, and on dozens of web sites in order to reach the most people.
Please donate here because your donations will determine how many of these ads can run. VR wants to have continuous ads in hundreds of venues over the next 18 months. Avenging Angels Inc.will create all of the ads.

One might be concerned that in the middle of eating some pretzels in front of the TV, President Bush will glance at this advertisement in his local newspaper. Suddenly the pretzel lodges in his throat. He will nearly pass-out, fall, and bang his head on the coffee table.
Deja Vu all over again!
Only this time…well deserved!!
Alan
If only Bush actually read the paper…
WOW. Excellent. Hits them right in the hypocrisy.
Should send the twins some desert boots and cammo gear as well. Wouldn’t want them ill-equipped over there.
Powerful, and the timing is good.
Lets see how much money we can raise for this campaign so these ads are everywhere dogging this Admin like the dog tags in the ads.
Just made a small donation to Velvet Revolution. Please, everybody who can, do the same! This is a great effort and a GREAT AD!!
I love it. Maybe Bush can read the message because it’s printed really big.
He may not know what those silver thingys are. (I know-dog tags)
The Bushco’s are on the run and hiding. Keep on their heels. Keep them busy so they can’t start nuking anyone, starting with a first strike in America. Be prepared for the likes of viper Mrs. Cheney to say how disgusting we are … guess what, who cares what she says or thinks … innocent people in Iraq are dying because of her and her lunatic husband… down with the tyranical American administration!
On Paula Zahn last night Bay Buchannan tried to defend Bush’s position and it was so weak ! She really should have had Karl write her comments.
Joan – sent my small check yesterday…keep reminding us – thanks
I just read on Raw Story that VR is planning a series of ads (I guess I assumed it would be just the one). I was reading some of the comments there, and a few people expressed the hope that some of the ads will address Election Fraud and Impeachment. Anybody know???
Oh, Concierge??
I really share that hope! YES YES YES!!! How I would love to see full page ads on both of those.
What can I (we) do to get these ads in my (our) local papers? What’s the proper way to do that?
I have heard that some of the ads are extremely hard hitting about fraud in ohio and about comparing the 2004 election to the recent election fraud in iraq. just blistering stuff that every other org out there is afraid to talk about.
This is what has to happen to wake this country up, when this war was just starting, we in Seattle had protest marches, but didn’t seem to catch on, lets all get on board, its time to take our country back from these MORONS.
You know, I often feel frustrated knowing there is real evil afoot with such powerful forces behind it. I do a little but it feels like not nearly enough.
But I CAN donate. Not alot, but I think all of us can cough up something…either to Velvet Revolution
(I mean, come on! Is this a kick-ass ad or what?!)
or to the Bradblog…or buy a little something from the Brad Store.
These are the people who are out there working for us. We really need to support them. They are up against a big, bad Goliath. Toss them a coupla stones for the slingshot, gang.
#12 Raipoli,
I’m really glad to hear that! I can’t WAIT for them to come out.I have to ask this again:
What can I (we) do to get these ads in my (our) local papers? What’s the proper way to do that?
Your ad is hitting the Randi Rhodes Message Board:

PS: Thanks, Kira. I used your instructions to link this!
You’re welcome, Ram!
Kira, since no one has answered my question, I’ll ask you, at the risk of seeming like a dumbass!
How would I go about trying to get my local papers to run these ads? Call/email the editors? Written request? Go there in person? I could & will do any or all of those things, but if you know…?
Hi Joan,
I’m like you … don’t know of any other avenues to take to get the ads in our papers. Looks like you covered all the bases.
Let’s ask Kat &/or Brad, too. Will see if they have any other ideas. (After they get settled in Crawford.)
Thanks for reminding us all to support the campaign by asking our papers to carry the ad!
Thanks, Kira. I’d email Brad but I hesitate to bother him now that he’s in Crawford.
I’ll see what response I get from the newspapers.
