Well, it now appears to be official…
It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President. And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term. … I will speak to the Nation later this week in more detail about my decision.
Here is his full letter to the American people…
The President did not directly endorse anyone in his letter. But, minutes after it was made public, he did so — much as I had suggested me might the day after his disastrous debate last month — on Twitter, with an endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris…
My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term. My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And it’s been the best decision I’ve made. Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this.

UPDATE: So who would you like to see as her VP? Please ring in in comments! May share this week on air!
Early endorsers for Kamala Harris:

Here’s a list of many Democratic leaders who have endorsed Kamala Harris
David Edwards
………
Among the Democratic endorsers is Sen. Mark Kelly who could also be a popular choice, but for the fact that his senate seat might be most important to keep.
Mark Kelly is a former navy pilot and astronaut, who is now a Senator from Arizona.

Pete Buttigieg. Him and Harris sure bring out the best from the reich wing pair.
Gov. Whitmer.
Mark Kelly voted against the “Pro” Act, which has got to hurt him with Unions.

Yes DonL, if Mark Kelly is pro neo-liberal policies, unlike Biden and Harris, then for more progressive policies and more diversity, Josh Shapiro could be a good choice.
Also, off topic but a good meme, I can’t recall who said it first, but I believe it was on Free Speech TV on the Stephanie Miller Show, a new meme for Trump’s Vance pick…SHILLBILLY.
After reading more about the candidates, I really admire and prefer Governor Walz because he was able to get passed big policy changes that helped kids, families, and workers even though he held a very narrow majority. He went for it and was able to get big things done. And, I like the way he talks and argues his points so strongly.
I am really happy it’s Walz.
I had thought that Shapiro would help deliver his state and so no matter what, he would be a good choice, but after further reading, he supported school vouchers and more conservative policies (I was wrong in the above comment #6 about Shapiro being progressive…sorry).
Tim Walz is progressive. He helps people. He cares. He’s also a great defender for democracy. I think he will add more conservative and rural voters helping Kamala to win. He may be able to help at least some of MAGA out of their cult.
I’m so happy.
