We open up the phones on today’s BradCast for a bunch of very good calls, including from a teacher who was back for in-person instruction today for the first time in a year here in Los Angeles; a gun supporter who isn’t insane, though we bicker a bit on his actual level of support for democracy as we succeed in finding some common ground; and a caller who survived a mass shooting in Oregon in 2013, among a number of other excellent calls from listeners today. But first up today, before we get to the phones…

  1. It was mentioned on the show that there are more guns in America than people, and while that is very true, it should also be noted that only 32% of Americans actually own guns, so one can assume that each owner must have several.

But that means that 78% of us really don’t feel the need to “protect” ourselves with a firearm. I can’t speak for the rest of the non-gun owners, but I for one am getting sick of the 32% shooting up the country every day! I guess I’m not alone either because around 80% of all Americans would like to see stiffer gun control laws.

It kind of looks to me as if the only people that really want zero gun regulations are about 52 or so US senators. All I can say to that 80% is “You all know what elections are for, so do it!”
