On today’s BradCast, some real facts on the real concerns about Dominion Voting Systems’ unverifiable computerized voting machines in Georgia — what we know (and don’t) about what happened with them during the 2020 Presidential election in November; what concerns that voters of all parties should have about them before the two critical U.S. Senate runoffs in the Peach State in January which will determine partisan control of the U.S. Senate; and what all Americans can do about it. But, first up today, a few quick — and somewhat related — news items today. On Wednesday, the U.S. tallied a heartbreaking record 3,124 COVID deaths, making it the fourth most deadly day in U.S. history after the Galveston Storm of 1900, and the Civil War battles of Antietam and Gettysburg. Wednesday saw more Americans die from COVID than those killed on September 11, 2001, which had previously been the nation’s fourth most deadly day. The next most deadly single days in the U.S. thereafter are now, in order, last Thursday, last Wednesday, last Friday, last Tuesday and Pearl Harbor.
At the same time this week, Donald Trump has been throwing crowded, indoor, holiday parties at the White House, lying to guests, without a mask, that his election was stolen, and the Texas lawsuit filed this week would prove it to his stolen and packed U.S. Supreme Court, somehow. It’s as if the worst pandemic in more than a hundred years doesn’t even exist because, after all, there’s an election to be stolen and several centuries of American democracy to be undermined during the holidays.
As to that absurd Texas case filed by the criminally indicted Attorney General of Texas, Ken Paxton, (which we explained in great detail on yesterday’s BradCast), 18 GOP controlled states have now joined the Lone Star State in support of tossing out the election results in Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Georgia, despite any evidence of fraud in those states that could possible overturn Joe Biden’s certified win in each of them. But, much less reported today, is the fact that more than 20 U.S. states and the District of Columbia have joined those four targeted states in opposing the corrupt Paxton’s transparent effort to win a pardon from the corrupt Trump, before the FBI drops new federal charges for bribery and abuse of power on the Texas AG.
Yes, the Texas case is absurd and offers an unprecedented, radical interpretation of the U.S. Constitution in hopes of stealing the election for Trump. As Pennsylvania’s Attorney General, Josh Shapiro, has correctly argued, “The Court should not abide this seditious abuse of the judicial process.” But we also now have an unprecedented, radical bunch of Justices sitting on the bench at SCOTUS. Anyone who tells you they know how those Justices will rule on this case is simply making things up.
In the meantime, there remain very real concerns about Georgia’s voting system, just not the phony ones that Team Trump and the MAGA Mob have decided to focus on (read: lie about.)
Today, for the first time since before the November 3rd election, we’re joined by voting systems expert MARILYN MARKS, Executive Director of the nonpartisan, good government watchdog group, Coalition for Good Governance. As a plaintiff in the long-running federal lawsuit seeking to bar Dominion Voting Systems’ new, unverifiable touchscreen systems from use in the state, Marks has been one of the longest and loudest critics of both the private Canadian-based voting system vendor and the state’s Republican Sec. of State Brad Raffensperger who contracted them. (Her same federal suit already resulted in a federal judge, last year, banning the use of the state’s 20-year old, unverifiable Diebold touchscreen systems.) Raffensperger defied both election integrity and cybersecurity experts by purchasing Dominion’s unverifiable $100+ million systems instead of a hand-marked paper ballot system as recommended by the experts. And now, Team Trump is exploiting Raffensperger’s ill-considered decision to make all sorts of unfounded claims about them.
That said, because these systems are unverifiable, it’s next to impossible to know that they accurately recorded the intent of any of the voters who are forced to use them at polling places across the state — something that Marks (and us) warned about long before Republicans decided to pretend they were concerned about “election integrity” and invented a ridiculous worldwide conspiracy led by Dominion to steal the election from Trump.
In addition to cribbing from and bastardizing some of The BRAD BLOG’s decade-old, independently verifiable investigative reporting about Dominion to create their ridiculous conspiracy regarding Venezuela’s dead President Hugo Chavez helping to steal the election from Trump, the same MAGA Mob has been stealing from and lying about Marks’ long-running federal law suit to try and make their case in court.
“We have seen, in Sidney Powell’s lawsuits, fabrication after fabrication,” Marks tells me. “I sit there and read these documents, cringing at the lack of facts. They even take things from our documents, like experts’ reports, then add craziness to them, literally change facts that were attested to by our experts and make them completely false.”
In light of all of that, among the question Marks speaks to today: Is there any evidence that Dominion Voting Systems touchscreens or tabulators were, in fact, used to flip votes from Donald Trump to Joe Biden in Georgia? Her answer may surprise you! If you’ve listened to The BradCast while we’ve covered this issue with Marks and others for years, it may not surprise you.
We have covered Georgia on this program and at BradBlog.com so long and in so much detail for a reason. The state, she notes “has been the poster-child for all that is wrong with US elections. It’s all concentrated here. And now it’s the center of the universe.”
Marks also speaks to whether Americans and residents of Georgia should have confidence in the reported results from the November election, and what if anything, can be done to ensure confidence in the results of the critical January 5th U.S. Senate runoffs in the state.
For those with actual concerns about those runoff elections — which doesn’t actually seem to include many of the Republican sore losers complaining about the November results and an evidence-free “Dominion Conspiracy” — Marks asks listeners to urgently, and politely, email both the Speaker of the GA House, David Ralston, and GA’s Sec. of State Raffensperger to urge them to allow HAND-MARKED paper ballots for all voters at the polls in the upcoming runoffs. She argues that there is still time for that to happen in every county, even as Early Voting begins on Monday. “They can make a quick switch to hand-marked paper ballots. All they need are a few thousand black ballpoint pens. They just need to hear from the nation that this time we want a non-controversial election.”
We also ask Marks (a now former Republican herself), whether or not there are at least a few Republicans who might end up finding legitimate interest in joining the fight for real Election Integrity after their current partisan interests in Trump’s election eventually fade away. While a private company like Dominion should never have the type of control they now have over our public elections, neither should the much larger ES&S firm or the smaller Hart-Intercivic, just to mention the three largest corporations who have arguably been allowed to usurp our public elections with unsecure, poorly designed, easily manipulated, non-transparent, computerized voting and tabulation systems.
“I hope that maybe one piece of good is that the Republicans are now suddenly concerned about software, and they are concerned about transparency of other processes,” she observers. “They’re suddenly interested in election administration that before, they seemed to have assumed was just going to work for them. So, hopefully we will get better transparency out of this. But we’re going to have to go through the crazy period first, I’m afraid.”

I can’t help but think you’re advocating against election fraud – only if it helps your team. I mean if ever there was an election ripe with motive and opportunity it would be 2020. Perhaps its just the wine in me circling the far reaches of my mind into illogical places.

I don’t believe it’s possible to spend too much time pondering that phrase, which in essence is the non problem that was solved by voting machines. An entire industry encompassing clandestine motives and suspicious activities built around the concept of replacing the ball point pen – millions upon millions spent in material, labor, and capital to bring about such an unnecessary Rube Goldberg like process – because you know, the pen it’s so luddite. And to think we had all those years practicing in school with a scantron test – for naught. The problem with the ball point pen, of course, is there’s no way to plug it into the internet.
I doubt Senator Perdue would be anxious to take up the cause of the pen – after all, Cuz Sonny was seemingly an OG benefactor of the machine vote.

A word about Covid-19 ..
I doubt a majority of Americans are taking proper care of their mask – as for myself, I’m using the same surgical mask for more than a week now and I can’t tell you how many times it’s seen the inside of my pocket. Obviously, the better way would be to wash my hands before touching it and hanging it on the rear view mirror when not in use. Oh bother.
I’m surrounded everyday by the blue team who are no more adept at wearing masks than the reds. In particular, I’m a denizen of the coffeehouse – a liberal stronghold – and in every place I go, which is many – and you could multiply that by X for the coffeehouses and cafes in the entire country – the old mix with the young unmasked chatting within six feet of one another, with whom they do not share a household. Not to mention the protests, celebrations, rallies, and youthful indiscretions.
People are people.
Biden has been asking us to wear masks for months and it appears voters on both teams refuse to follow his lead in adequate numbers. Perhaps it’s the French Laundry Effect. Curiously, it appears he’s forgotten he’s already asked people to wear a mask – so now he’s apparently said he’s going to ask people to wear a mask for 100 days after he’s sworn into office. Mind you, it’s a pandemic and as you sadly point out over 3,000 people died today – but Biden isn’t making this particular ask today – no, not yet, but a month from now – then he’ll ask for 100 days – why then and not now? Because, well because science.
If vitamin D, quercetin, and zinc were mentioned as often as masks, we might have far fewer deaths in this country. The truest testament to America’s short term memory is that store shelves were gutted of vitamin D last March, but just as the virus hits yet another peak, the shelves are chock-full and go wanting. Interestingly, at one point YouTube was censoring the idea that vitamin D may be helpful against Covid-19. The utter gall and shear audacity of silicon valley’s siloed pinheads when it comes to free speech is contemptible.

There’s no telling how many deaths can be pinned on the collar of the media for their inadequate response to this pandemic. Now, the Dems propagandistic allies in the media — who have for months so recklessly propagated doubt in Trump’s positive thinking about bringing a vaccine to fruition in record time — must feverishly backpedal their snake oil and one can only hope they reprogram their sheep to come to accept its safety and efficacy.

For a start, when you say I am “advocating against election fraud”, I assume you’re saying I am “advocating against there having been election fraud in the Trump/Biden 2020 election”. If that’s what you meant to say, you’ll have to show me where I’ve advocated against the idea that could have happened. In fact, in the show linked above, I discuss exactly that with Marilyn.
I haven’t stated there was no fraud in this election (whether in the Presidential race or any other). I’ve said I’ve seen no evidence that suggests as much in the Presidential race. (I’ve seen more compelling evidence of fraud in some of the other races from Nov. 3, but haven’t discussed them yet, because I don’t tend to send up FRAUD! alarms unless I feel it’s warranted.)
Moreoever, I have spent MANY an election helping candidates who are decidedly not “my team” when it appears they have been screwed by a voting system. (Ask Joe Miller, Allan West and others.) To that end, my work on Election Integrity is non-partisan.
So, let me repeat again: I have seen no evidence to date to suggest this election was in any way defrauded. Doesn’t mean that it wasn’t. Doesn’t mean that it couldn’t have been. It just means that from the available evidence that I am aware of (and I have looked at a LOT), there is nothing particularly unusual about any of the issues that have been reported, and most are being made up out of whole cloth by Team Trump, pretending that there are problems where there are not any.
As I discussed with Marilyn above, however, there are many things that we simply cannot know without access to these systems. However, that is ALWAYS the problem with the type of hackable and often unverifiable voting systems we use in this country, particularly in places like GA where Marillyn (and myself) and many voting system and cybersecurity experts BEGGED (in fact SUED!) the state’s Republican Sec. of State to use a full HAND-MARKED paper ballot system instead.
And, finally, within days after the election, when Republicans — who called folks like me “conspiracy theorist” and “sore loser” whenever we raised ANY of these type of concerns over the past 20 years — finally decided to give a damn about Election Integrity, I invited them to join me in demanding all HAND-MARKED and HAND-COUNTED paper ballots for the critical January US Senate runoffs in Georgia, in order to get Dominion (and every other private vendor) out of the matter entirely.
To date, NONE of them have taken me up on that invitation.
JMO, but if any election was rigged this year, it was in Maine, where Susan Collins rather miraculously kept her seat.
Dems didn’t rig squat, IMO.
If they had, they wouldn’t have lost in Maine, or lost those house seats in CA.
GOP TRIED to rig Georgia, but weren’t able to erase enough voters from the rolls.
Covid is an intelligence operation – it’s a massive deception that reclassifies existing nonspecific pneumonia and Influenza-like illness as “caused” by a new disease agent. What’s really bothering me is the so-called “woke left” isn’t asking questions in the spirit of that old adage “Trust but Verify.” When you try to verify, the epidemiology makes no sense. The so-called “tests” are totally bogus. The media is going full-blown “Weapons of Mass Destruction.” There were No WMD’s just as there is no pandemic. It is a mass delusion created by our culture of P/R – and to understand it as an intelligence operation means asking questions about the nature of our media and the nature of the organization of our society.

That would be a wrong assumption, you’re an American hero, you’re fighting the good fight – and that is what I meant by you’re fighting election fraud – the part about “your team†was a fear that Trump is obviously not the type of cat that engenders a desire on the part of any decent person to rush to his defense. But I get it, you’re not advocating against your just not advocating for without proof. My worry is that this moment will pass and the opportunity to effect real change will have passed with it – there’s power in numbers.
I did just now listen to your show and heard you advocating for what’s right – regardless of teams. So props. Marilyn seems like a wonderful woman and a true American hero like yourself, but what I heard her say in regards to Georgia was that “there is no proof of who won†and that it’s an “unverifiable system … a system that the results cannot be defendedâ€, and that about 75% of ballots were machine marked – but, somehow you managed to get her to say absolutely we should have confidence in the results – because of three recounts. And, as she said both sides agreed to the faulty system. But, with all due respect, I’m going to go with you can’t trust a machine marked ballot — period.
Marilyn was unaware of any evidence regarding flipped votes, but I have yet to find anyone debunking the work of Edward Solomon – perhaps it exists somewhere — Smoking Gun, Part 2
Curiously, if I’m not mistaken, his work shows irregularities favoring Biden on both Dominion and ES&S systems – and I thought they were playing on different teams. Maybe I got that wrong, but that truly would be enlightening.
It sounds like the cause for Election Integrity could make use of some bigger guns. Why not onboard the brash shameless audacity of Trump and the network effect of his followers to put this whole crazy nonsense to rest for good. If at all possible, after he’s out of office and seething with contempt, perhaps you could find a way to recruit him to the cause, tap that energy, that narcissism, the shameless bravado, imagine the media attention of such a thing – like re-awakening Godzilla! On another note, I had the misfortune of watching an elderly man stumble through a speech to — cough – calm the country – cough — which I believe is code for call off my corporate media dogs.
