Thanks for posting the link, Brad. I just sent it out to my email list.
Nice idea. Don’t know why it can’t be practiced year round, though.
The only problem with confining the concept to a few days could result in sweeps week type thing where blogs simply jazz themselves up for ratings.
Still, a good idea.
Well, I for one will be doing this as an ongoing project. My dad who is nearly 80 has already been doing this kind of campaign ever since before the faux *s*election.
I’ve "accidentally" left a few papers in the dental office myself. The trouble with living in the country, though, is that there aren’t many public waiting areas and certainly no subways.
Peg C., my dad lives in the country too. He tacks them up on Grocery Store bulletin boards and various small stores in his small town (where the owner is agreeable).
It would be good to make people aware of the Brad Blog and the Velvet Revolution…hopefully a few curious people might log on and pass the word…generate conversation, thoughts, actions.
We have to do something since the truth will not come via MSM. Another blog had an open thread and the subject was fascism. There were 14 characteristic points of fascism identified and they all hit the nail on the head. There is no doubt that it is happening here and we need to inform others about it. It’ll never get to the MSM, you can bet on that. So the paper chase is a good idea, but needs to be consistent and persistent, day in and day out.
Wonderful idea.
We can only hope and dream that one day we will be distributing this.
I don’t think this particular thing will be effective, but the thought counts. Likely it will generate a lot of trash.
I think personal intervention works better, like ambushing your in-laws when they visit and forcing them to watch Votergate.
Let me quote from an interview with Gore Vidal:
The Undoing of America
CP: Is there any winning back some semblance of the older republic at this point?
Vidal: You have to have people who want it, and I can’t find many people who do.
CP: What can average people do about this state of affairs at present, if anything?
Vidal: Well, some of the internet has been very useful. Radio has been very useful. There are means of getting things across. It’s why I write those little books of mine, the pamphlets as I call them.
Our first form of politics was pamphleteering in the 18th century. They serve a purpose–more pamphlets, more readers, more this, more that. There’s a battle to do an interesting kind of guide to the American centuries, and how we got where we are and how we can get out of it.
I’m engaged with some people working on that. Further, deponent sayeth not.
Also – (and I know it’s going to take a thousand times a hundred) – remember the "Hundredth Monkey?"
…"Although the exact number may vary, this Hundredth Monkey Phenomenon means that when only a limited number of individuals knows a ‘new way’, it remains the conscious property of those individuals.
However, when one more individual manifests this new awareness, the field is strengthened, a critical mass is reached, and the awareness becomes the conscious property of all. This new awareness is communicated mind to mind."
