I’ve been looking into a few deeper dive stories of late — for next week, at this point. So, until then, since the Colbert Report is soon disappearing (which makes me incredibly sad), please enjoy this segment from earlier this week.
It’s not particularly political, really (other than beating up on one particular jackass at Fox “News” who really deserves it), but the last part of this thing just struck me as so goddamn funny at a time when I’m guessing you and I both could use some “goddamn funny”…
Too funny. We are lucky to live in the time of Colbert and Stewart — the funniest guys on TV who tell it like it is since the Smothers Brothers.
Bo Dietl’s outburst reminds me of an old John Belushi bit on SNL’s Weekend Update segment where he delivered a rant that grew increasingly feverish and angry until he had a seizure and fell out of his chair! If John were still alive, he might even sue the guy.
Hey, as long as he doesn’t throw his gum up on the emperors lap.

This one struck me, too. Genius.
While Colbert’s take on Bo Dietl is hella funny, what is scaring me is that Dietl’s rant is as blatantly racist, if not more so, than when IMUS commented on the nappy heads of a female college basketball team about ten years ago, that ultimately got himself fired, but here is Dietl , on FOX of all places, and not a word about his racists filled rant anywhere other than within a joke bit on Colbert.
If the Dixie South hasn’t risen again already, I am sure it won’t be long before they really do.
The racism aimed at Obama is what makes it so ironic that the man who saved so many aspects of GOP ideology from well-deserved extinction is still so despised by so many of them because of his skin color.
But that racism does not excuse his pursuit of, and support of, so many goals of the uber-elites… goals that should have been utterly out of the question after over 30 years of GOP and neoliberal corruption and mismanagement.
So very Jon Stewart!
