A Marist-McClatchy poll released Tuesday found 48 percent of registered voters would choose a Democrat if the congressional elections were held today. Another 42 percent said they would support a Republican candidate. Six percent said they’re undecided.
The last time the polling firm tested the question, in February, Democrats held only a 2-point lead. Other recent polling has shown a narrow edge for Democrats. The Real Clear Politics average has Democrats topping Republicans by about 2 percent as well.
Maybe Democrats will stop acting like losers now too. Hmmm. Doubt it.

Thankfully there is no such thing a gerrymandering, so we can take “generic” national election results at face value… Yeah, right.
I (sort of ) appreciate the attempt at being a cheerleader, but this does sort of insult our intelligence. District level polling is the ONLY type of polling that means anything. That is why the Democrats got 5 million more votes than Republicans last election, yet still are in the minority in the House of Representatives.
Seriously??? who the heck do they really poll? No one asked me. C’mon anyone who voted Democrat n the midterms and 2016 has either not been reading or listening or hasn’t lived in the US for the past 6 years
yikes!

You mean the past 6 years during which the Republican Party has abused the filibuster and now a House majority to not only block effective economic reforms, but carry out a criminal form of extortion by shutting down the government and threatening the full faith and credit of the U.S. government? Or are you referring to the past 6 years in which Republicans in state governments spent most if their time assaulting women’s health rights, passing deadly “stand your ground” laws and launching the greatest assault on the right to vote since the Reconstruction era? Those six years?
Anyone who votes Republican, was either fast asleep during the 8 years of the Bush regime, that brought us two disastrous but unfunded wars of choice and brought the world’s economy to the brink of collapse. Indeed anyone who votes Republican is profoundly ignorant of the disaster that would be the fate of this nation and the world if the climate science denying, “greed is good” oligarchs in the Party of the One Percent prevails.
Insert the missing words and we can reach 100% agreement on Comment #2: “not been reading [breitbart.com] or listening [to Fox News]”. Even trolls can make sense with a little tweaking.
Ever since the Coup of November 1963, Democrats forgot how to show any courage. The only Democrats showing courage (IMHO) who are now in the Congress are Warren and Grayson. Democratic caucus members who show courage are essentially limited to Bernie Sanders (I had some hope for Angus King, but he’s lately hinting that he changes caucus in the fall).
Ergo, I don’t see much hope in the Democrats even if they are the lesser evil.
