  1. Funny, but not really accurate.

My warning is this: They are more like Freddy Kruger or Dracula. You kill them, but they are undead, and cannot be killed.

You must kill them again and again and again. For eternity. Or they will come and eat your children. Really, they will.

  2. If a good parent had a child who misbehaved as outrageously as the GOP has been misbehaving for some time now, there would be some serious consequences and down time. I look at our completely dysfunctional, enabling, co-dependence with these cuckoos as sort of a terrible, terrible example of bad parenting. Or like a weirder, vastly more ripple effecting version of friends don’t let friends drive drunk.

  3. I don’t think for more than one or two election cycles that they are down and out. Even after the great recession they came back after only two years.

And now after Citizens United and the next Supreme Court rulings that will allow unlimited campaign donations directly to any candidate they want…

  4. The Republicans have two factions. The establishment side which is all style and no substance (they think the problem is an incorrect messaging situation, not a lack of a coherent platform) and the tea party side which is all radical substance and no ability in style (those are the temper tantrum Republicans).
If they split They will be two Black Knights with “flesh wounds” that they not only will be inflicted by Democrats but by the other faction. I wonder when the Black Knight will admit defeat?

I could easily see a confederacy faction splitting from the tea party so that the confederate tea party is what is left over from the “conservative” Democrats of olden days. Then they can try to secede again.
