When running a series of stories like the one that seems to have ended (for now) in yesterday’s quiet signing of SB 360 by CA’s Democratic Governor Jerry Brown, I’m reminded again of the importance of independent media outlets, and the difficulties inherent in being one, as we strive to be. But we can only continue to do so with your help. Seriously.
I’m also reminded of what legendary investigative journalist Seymour Hersch was quoted as saying just last week in The Guardian [emphasis added]…
…
“I would close down the news bureaus of the networks and let’s start all over, tabula rasa. The majors, NBCs, ABCs, they won’t like this – just do something different, do something that gets people mad at you, that’s what we’re supposed to be doing,” he says.
In short, when it comes to our work as independent journalists here, I take that as: “If you’re not pissing someone off, you’re doing it wrong.”
Please help The BRAD BLOG continue to piss people off, because “trouble makers don’t get promoted.” Nor do they receive support from corporations or partisan foundations. We do, however, hopefully have folks like you to generously help us continue what we have done, tirelessly, for almost a decade now. And I thank you again for that help in advance…

I’d love to help with financial support.. heck, I’d love to help ME with financial support..
However even though it doesn’t help pay the material bills, sometimes it is nice to be told you are appreciated and supported too.. I have enjoyed what I have been reading since I tuned in a few days ago.
Keep up the good work..
That’s all I got.. sorry.
REPUBLICAN FEAR=SHUTDOWN
The Republicans know Affordable Health Care is going to be success
Therefore, they want it delayed until after the mid-term election.
They are mainly responsible for out financial disaster of Debt.
Clinton left Bush a Surplus and CBO said had Bush followed Clinton policies
we would have had a $10,000 Billion surplus in 2010. We would have paid off the
$5800B Debt. Clinton left Bush an $1800B budget which could have been less than $2500B
not the Bush $3500B. Two dumb unneeded wars and huge tax cuts for the richest of the rich.
The Tea Party Republicans must kicked out of our government before they do more damage
to enrich their backer, David Koch.
Brad – NJ lawsuit L-1933-13 “LaVergne v Lonegan” on Ballot Construction raised issues on the voting machines (Grillo v Christie) We’re fighting voter fraud and ballot manipulation. Working with A. Appel, also – I’m sure you know him (Princeton). Please reach out to me on this emergent matter regarding Dominion Sequoia machines and the State AG’s effort to delete the programming from the Senate Special Election 12 hours after the polls close (Federal Law requires the machines be locked down for minimum of 15 days for audit/recount availability) on the basis that the “paper tape” record is an accurate representation in all cases of what the machine recorded on the switches. NJ Machines do NOT have the back-up, and the results are not listed as individual ballots in the report, nor are they time-stamped (20,000 last minute votes in Ocean County last year during power failure due to Hurricane Sandy)
We BOTH know manipulating the software is no big deal, and I further believe that the effort is a red herring, because we also BOTH know it is a simple matter to program the program to change itself before the machine locks down, in no way indicating that, during the polling, the recording of votes was subject to “re-assignment” fraud. Again, a simple program to write. The program must be audited BEFORE the machines are run to test their veracity, AND, it is likely that during the so-called “diagnostic” that the malware is inserted to control the outcome of the election. It’s too easy with the Sequoia machines.
