From <a href=\"http:\/\/totalbuzz.freedomblogging.com\/2010\/03\/17\/birther-lawyer-to-run-for-secretary-of-state\/31791\/\"><em>The Orange County Register<\/em><\/a>:<\/p>\n<div class=\"media\"><strong>\u00e2\u20ac\u02dcBirther\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 Lawyer Taitz Running for Secretary of State<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Laguna Niguel lawyer Orly Taitz, who\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s gained a national following for efforts to prove Barack Obama\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s presidency is illegitimate, has qualified to run for California secretary of state, said Orange County Registrar of Voters Neal Kelley.<\/p>\n<p>In launching her campaign to be the state\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s top elections official, Taitz is alleging that fellow Republican candidate Damon Dunn, a former NFL player living in Irvine, is ineligible to seek the GOP nomination. She says he\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s committed voter and election fraud.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/rawstory.com\/2010\/03\/sec-state-birther-leader-rarely-votes\/\">RAW STORY reports<\/a> that if elected, Taitz plans to &#8220;use her office to pursue an investigation of Obama&#8217;s citizenship.&#8221;  Insert your own punchline here.<\/p>\n<p>If the Israeli-born Taitz receives the nomination in the state&#8217;s June primary, she would face presumptive Democratic opponent Sec. of State Debra Bowen in November.
