Seriously. Markos Moulitsas really ought to reconsider whom he has assigned as front-pagers and gate-keepers at his Daily Kos site, given the pointless damage they seem hell-bent on doing to the joint in their continuing assault on Progressive voices in the blogosphere.<\/p>\n

Following their irresponsibly substance-free (and accuracy-free) assaults on Election Integrity advocates such as The BRAD BLOG<\/a> (see here<\/a>, here<\/a>, here<\/a> & here<\/a>), and then their obnoxious and pointless attack on Larry Johnson<\/a>, it looks like they’re now working on tearing down Progressive blogger turned nationally syndicated columnist David Sirota<\/a>…<\/p>\n

Sirota, unlike us, a frequent dKos poster, writes there today<\/a> about the latest, silly assaults he’s received of late from the front-pagers over there (including, naturally, our old friend, the obnoxious disinformationist<\/a>, “DHinMI”, who is actually Dana Houle, the recently-formerized Chief of Staff to a U.S. Congressman from New Hampshire)…<\/p>\n

The thrust of the attacks, exemplified in the comments section of this post yesterday<\/a>, are that I am a horrible person for promoting my work, and an especially awful person for promoting my work on DailyKos. This was the crux of ct\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s criticism yesterday.  It then degenerates from there \u00e2\u20ac\u201c with people DailyKos front-page posters like Laura Clawson using the comments section to tell me that, in fact, my work is “marginal”<\/a> and unimportant.  DHinMI, a Capitol Hill staffer, typically chimes in with one or another version of a comment that implies I should just leave the community.<\/div>\n

Sirota notes, as we have<\/a>, that the problem children seem to be the gate-keeping front-page kids that Kos has assigned to police the joint — whose power, or sense of entitlement, seems to have gone to their heads, or something, it’s difficult to figure out what they hell they must be thinking — as opposed to the rank-and-file readers and diarists there who seem to have a very different outlook than those who run the place…<\/p>\n

Let’s be clear: I think it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s definitely true that the people who launch the most passionate and personal attacks against me in this community are a very, very small minority (and interestingly, some of the people who are the most personally nasty are front-page posters…)<\/div>\n

I’ll not ascribe any particular reason for the obnoxious behavior of the folks who seem hell-bent on proving the idiotic Bill O’Reilly right<\/a> over there. I have no evidence one way or another to help explain their behavior, so I won’t try. (A courtesy that those folks may wish to afford to others whom they criticize.)<\/p>\n

Since we live in a glass house, and have thrown a few rocks ourselves, we don’t begrudge them the right to attack whomever they wish. But if they’re going to do so, it ought to be well-considered, for good reason, and with evidence to back up their complaints. All of that seems to be in somewhat short supply by these particular folks.<\/p>\n

And while we’ve been known to attack a few Dems, and even fellow Progressives ourselves before, it shouldn’t be necessary to note, but apparently it is: Progressivism doesn’t always equal either Democratic-ism or Liberalism. Just in case that idea has escaped the front-page geniuses over at Daily Kos.<\/p>\n

Seriously, Markos, time to consider some fresh, and hopefully more responsible, voices over there. Feel free to ignore as usual, of course.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
