Secretary of State Bowen has now sent a letter to the Los Angeles Registrar asking him to provide information back to the state with regards to the tens of thousands of uncounted “Double Bubble” ballots. She has also suggested that the county actually count many of those ballots where they know the voter intent. When “Decline To State” voters went to the polls and asked for a ballot to vote either American Independent or Democratic the poll workers were supposed to annotate the party (AI or DEM) in the poll book. If all of the DTS voters at a polling site asked to vote DEM then all of those ballots can be counted because the voter intent is clearly known. Only when an AI voter is thrown into the mix does the count become more difficult….

NAtional: The Magic Of America
http://www.opednews.com/articles/opedne_james_st_080215_the_magic_of_america.htm

CA: Los Angeles County – Letter From Bowen To Logan Re: Uncounted DTS Ballots
http://electionlawblog.org/archives/Mr%20%20Logan%20021408.pdf

CA: Solano County – Backlog of ballots in Solano
http://www.thereporter.com/news/ci_8270752

CO: Mesa County – Both sides agree to disagree in voting machine debacle
http://kjct8.com/Global/story.asp?S=7875206

GA: More than 400 voters lacked photo IDs in Feb. 5 primary
http://www.ledger-enquirer.com/251/story/248417.html

MA: Gloucester – City clerk ponders ways to hold elections more cheaply, easily
http://www.wickedlocal.com/gloucester/homepage/x230382437

MD: Fewer than 10,000 voted in extra 90 minutes
http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/local/bal-md.ballots15feb15,0,3237763.story

NY: NY court adds new voting machine, but counties aren’t buying
http://www.newsday.com/news/local/wire/newyork/ny-bc-ny–votingmachines0215feb15,0,853302.story

OH: Judge Rules Ohio Curbs on Voter Registration Drives Unenforceable
http://thejournal.epluribusmedia.net/index.php/state-news/ohio-news/34-ohio-news/56-ohio-curbs-on-voter-registration-drive-unenforcable

OH: Coshocton County – State: Paper ballots must be available
http://www.coshoctontribune.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080215/NEWS01/802150303

OH: Lucas County to reprint, remail 6,500 faulty absentee ballots
http://toledoblade.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080215/NEWS33/802150322/-1/NEWS

OH: Union County – County argues it should not have to provide paper ballots
http://www.wnewsj.com/main.asp?SectionID=49&SubSectionID=156&ArticleID=163051&TM=31152.19

OH: Wood County – Weighing the options
State election officials deem new Wood County voting machines vulnerable to tampering, suggest purchasing new optical scanning systems
http://media.www.bgnews.com/media/storage/paper883/news/2008/02/15/Local/Weighing.The.Options-3212782.shtml

TN: Tennessee one step closer to voter verifiable voting machines
http://southernstudies.org/facingsouth/2008/02/tennessee-one-step-closer-to-voter_14.asp

TX: Waller County – Opinion – Fighting Voter Suppression in Texas
http://news.yahoo.com/s/thenation/20080215/cm_thenation/45285748

Washington DC: D.C.
