It’s Nicole Sandler<\/a>, back for another day guest hosting the BradCast<\/i><\/a>. Friday was another brutal day of war perpetrated by Vladimir Putin on the people of Ukraine. It’s unfathomable that this is happening. There’s coverage of it everywhere, so I thought that today, we’d focus on the rest of the news.<\/p>\n

Well, obviously not all of it… but there were three areas I wanted to talk with the always brilliant MARCY WHEELER<\/strong> about. Marcy is an independent journalist who focuses on matters of national security and civil liberties at her own Emptywheel<\/a> blog.<\/p>\n

I spoke with her on Monday, Presidents’ Day, which was a few days before Putin invaded Ukraine. Nevertheless, her thoughts on what brought us to that point are interesting, as she weaves all the threads together…<\/p>\n

The first of the three areas she enlightened on was filing by Bill Barr-appointed Special Counsel John Durham, which Fox not-News covered ad nauseum for days, criticizing the responsible media for not reporting on it…until Fox themselves suddenly stopped talking about it. <\/p>\n

Second, the progress being made on the Jan 6 insurrectionists prosecutions and House Select Committee investigation. <\/p>\n

And, of course, Russia\/Ukraine.<\/p>\n
