Both The Daily Show and the Colbert Report have been absolutely en fuego this week in the wake of Romney’s “47%” disaster.
But last night’s “Chaos on Bulls#%t Mountain,” on The Daily Show, documenting the crisis that has struck “Romney Election Headquarters (the Fox “News” Channel)” in the wake of the disaster, is almost certainly an instant classic. Part 2 (both are posted below) and its stinging final button, may be among the show’s smartest moments of all time.
As The Daily Show’s website summarizes Part 1: “In the 48 hours since the Romney video first gained wide exposure, turd containment crews at Fox News have been working overtime on Bullshit Mountain.”
As Jon Stewart concludes at the end of Part 2: “The biggest problem with the denizens of Bullshit Mountain, is they act like their shit don’t stink. If they have success, ‘they built it’. If they failed, the government ruined it for them. If they get a break, they deserve it. If you get a break, it’s a ‘handout’ and an ‘entitlement’. It’s a baffling, willfully blind, cognitive dissonance, best summed up by their head coach, in what is, perhaps, my favorite sound bite of all time…” (You’ll have to watch to hear the sound bite)…

Okay, well sure, Brad and Ernie and Glenn Greenwald and some other favorites, sure, I didn’t mean to slight anyone. It was just that in my excitement at seeing this most recent brilliance it occurred to me yet again what treasures Stewart and Colbert are for those of us trying to keep our heads on straight.

Pima County Election Fraud: “The most important legal and factual building block of the Pima county lawsuit is the AGREED UPON FACT that it is very EASY TO CHEAT with our election computer software. These vote totals lets county manger Chuck Huckelberry know if he needs to adjust the numbers. In the last election Aug. 28, 2012 Early Ballots counting started Wednesday the 22nd. Historically, we can prove through the Election program’s audit logs and testimony that when they count ballots early that they would print Election summary reports (of who’s winning or losing) in most elections in the 1st 1/3 of the counting process and then no more until 8: pm election night.
If I heard full blown factual truth spoken like this on any actual news channel I would pass out.
That is a sad statement when we have to look to COMEDIANS to get real honest factual news.

Just a note–I saw the whole bit tonight on the early evening rebroadcast of last night’s show that this Stewart piece is taken from and there are a couple of minutes in the middle that these two excerpts miss. The stuff in the middle is excellent, too.

Hey… I KNEW that this poor rich guy was out of touch,
but now…. I think he’s just touched.
What does our country owe its people?
What do our people owe our country?
What do we …we the people….owe to each other?

to those in the Middle-class, and to those hoping to get there.
Romney says TO HELL with the hungry, the homeless, the helpless,
and the hopeless …and to all the biblical “least of theseâ€.
Does he even know the Christian New Testament?
Romney says TO HELL with the “47% of America†— the “losersâ€
that Romney so easily dismisses and disrespects as “dependentsâ€.
Romney wines and complains… INCREDIBLY
…that we’re shamelessly sponging off of him,
and off of all of his poor-poor-poor super-rich friends
…..all those super-rich folks who want to BUY this ELECTION,
…..all those super-rich folks who want to BUY this COUNTRY.
Trickle-down economics? Hey sure, why not- let them eat cake.
It’s all the same. Always has been.
It’s crumbs for us, and Cadillacs and car elevators, and loopholes & lower taxes for them.
That is, if they, AND the bailed-out banks,
AND the big corporations pay ANY taxes at all….
When THEY get a break- they deserve it.
But if YOU get a break, it’s a handout.

Tell me – who are the REAL “takersâ€, who are the REAL creators,
who are the TRUE workers and builders? Who are the REAL “victims†here?
Who’s in the Cayman Islands trying to avoid taxes, and deducting his trick horses?
