I guess Desi Doyen, co-host and managing editor of The BRAD BLOG’s Green News Report, was such a smash in her TYT guest hosting debut on Thursday with regular host Ana Kasparian, they just had to have her back again on Friday to guest host again, this time with The Young Turks’ ‘Top Turk’, Cenk Uygur.
Of course, it’s just my opinion, and I suspect I’m biased, but, frankly, she killed.

NOTE FROM DESI: To clarify one point made in the above clip, it’s the Virginia legislature that insists the phrase ‘sea level rise’ should not be used in coastal planning reports, with one lawmaker calling them “liberal code words.”
The North Carolina legislature, on the other hand, according to Scientific American, is taking a different approach. They are attempting to use legislation to limit the scientific methods that the state’s coastal planners are allowed to use when predicting sea level rise.
“These rates shall only be determined using historical data, and these data shall be limited to the time period following the year 1900. Rates of seas-level rise may be extrapolated linearly,” reads NC’s proposed legislation. In other words, they can only use old data, not the newer, better data predicting sea level rise up to 3 feet by 2100.
A new study from the US Geological Survey, meanwhile, published last week indicates the East Coast is a sea level rise “hot spot,” meaning sea levels are rising faster than the rest of the world, and the rate is accelerating.
NOTE FROM DESI: Just want to note that I misspoke in identifying the location of the 1989 Exxon Valdez oil spill off the coast of Alaska — as I’ve said a bazillion times before, the spill fouled Prince William Sound, not Puget Sound, as I incorrectly referenced above.
I agree that Desi did great on the spot last week with Ana Kasparian, but I was highly underwhelmed with Ana. She struck me as being very… well, how to say this nicely … Megan Kelly-ish. Eye candy with not a lot of substance. Designed to attract (literally) a male audience. Not worthy of the gravity of necessary discussion. So, trade that for Desi any day. (Also eye candy, but with substance, so the eye candy part is secondary. And yes, that is horribly sexist. My apologies.)

From someone in NC. ….During the current heatwave (daily temps. of 100 and above )..I-40 between Durham and Raleigh buckled during rush hour. Had to be repaired. That particular stretch is comparable to I-95 going into NYC in their rush hour.
Seems that those who don’t believe in climate change are being given an object lesson they can’t deny anyway.
