It’s Election Day today, but a 90-year-old Republican will not be voting after the ID nightmare she faced when moving to Virginia. As it turns out, her birth certificate did not match her married name (ya think?), but even though she also brought a driver’s license, proof of her new residence, a Medicaid card and a bank card, she still had problems getting the state-issued ID she’d need to vote today in VA.
After several trips to the DMV, — luckily she’s able to get there, several times apparently, unlike many other 90-year-olds — Jean Earley was finally able to get that ID. But this story has twist ending. Go read it.
I’m sure John Fund and all the other GOP voter disenfranchisers are delighted with themselves. No doubt they haven’t been this pleased since keeping those 80 and 90-year-old nuns from voting in Indiana last year.
What “right” to vote?

I take it, then, that you believe every name on the voter rolls is valid. Every fraudulent vote disenfranchises a valid vote. There is little doubt that there are more fraudulent votes than there are registered voters who weren’t allowed to vote due to lack of ID.

Robert Lee said:
Nope. There’s a lot of dead wood, as everyone agrees, which is (one of the reasons) why there have been so many purges in those roles since the state computer database registration has been required by HAVA.
How many of those deadwood registrants “vote”? Almost none, as all legitimate experts, as well as DoJ reports, tend to agree.
Yup. And every voter disenfranchised by overly draconian restrictions disenfranchises a valid vote and robs an American of their rights.
“Little doubt” by who? Fox “News” viewers who’ve been lied to about it? Perhaps, but nobody else who actually knows what they’re talking about. FAR more voters are disenfranchised by suppressing legal votes than by non-existant voters voting. It’s not even close. Unless, of course, you’re a Fox “News” viewer and believe in John Fund and Glenn Beck more than actual SCIENCE and stuff.
But you are welcome to continue your delusions as you like. Sadly, the result is Americans denied of their democratic rights.

Could get REALLY interesting if it’s so close a recount happens too:
“There have even been some anecdotal reports of 23rd CD residents coming in to boards of elections and demanding their absentee ballots back since Scozzafava dropped out of the race”
Bull-crap whining about fraud from the GOP:

Where were they BEFORE they were losing elections? I mean besides creating caging lists.
From TPM’s latest update in that article, the ludicrous:

And ACORN has already answered their accusation too:

today went pretty smoothly at my precinct. as an election judge, i did witness some red tape. out of 98 voters 4 had to have forms filled out due to a name change (hyphenated married name), change of address (p.o. box was his “mailing” add.- not sufficient & the other because his i.d. said terrace instead of street) & the last because she was deceased…
with proper paperwork, 3 of them got to vote…
Jacki, where are you located?

John Fund…sounds like a collection to rent a porta potty if the sewer in your apartment backs up.
Now that’s funny.
Yer durn’ tootin’, Chris Hooten!
That ain;t just dumb – that’s DAMN dumb!
I voted pretty much without a hitch in Ohio yesterday, although the printer inside the machine bucked and wiggled and whirred so much, everyone wondered – as well as me – if it was about to explode! It did print though.
Seventeenth amendment changed the right to a privilege.
