Last week, more than thirty ‘good government’ groups including the ACLU, POGO, CREW, Liberty Coalition, and September 11th Advocates called on Henry Waxman’s Committee “to hold public hearings into the case of FBI Whistleblower Sibel Edmonds, and the erroneous use of the State Secrets Privilege to shut down all court proceedings in her case.”
Sibel Edmonds says: “Thanks to Brad and Bradblog readers. Exactly twelve months ago, Bradblog helped launch this petition and we had a great response. Fifteen thousand people signed the petition and we have delivered it to Congress. Now we’d like to ask for your help again.”
We’ve had solid indications that Waxman is ready and willing to hold public, open hearings into Sibel’s case. We need to give Waxman a final push and get him to commit to a date, in May or June, and that’s where you come in. We want you to call the offices of Congressmen Henry Waxman, John Conyers, Patrick Leahy, and Charles Grassley and demand, beg, and implore them to publicly announce that they will have hearings.
Sibel has already told her story in classified briefings to the Senate Judiciary Committee, the Senate Intelligence Committee, Henry Waxman’s staff, and the 911 Commission, and her case has been investigated by the Department of Justice Inspector General. All of them have verified Sibel’s claims. As Republican Senator Charles Grassley said (YouTube) on 60 Minutes in 2002: “Absolutely, she’s credible. And the reason I feel she’s very credible is because people within the FBI have corroborated a lot of her story.” …
Veteran FBI counterintelligence agent John Cole says he “talked to people who had read her file, who had read the investigative report, and they were telling me a totally different story” than FBI officials. “They were telling me that Sibel Edmonds was 100 percent accurate, that management knew that she was correct.”
And then there’s Daniel Ellsberg: “Now, Sibel is a person who has been checked out a good deal by some of the senators she’s talked to – Senator Leahy, Senator Grassley, Republican – they have always said, repeatedly, that she’s extremely credible. The FBI agents we’ve talked to have, in every respect that was raised, have confirmed her story – that she’s a very credible witness. Representative Waxman, to whose staff she’s spoken has said the same. So she is very credible. That’s a fact.”
So we have a bizarre and dangerous situation where people in every corner of the US government know according to Edmonds, that “certain officials in this country are engaged in treason against the United States and its interests and its national security” and nothing is done about it. If you don’t think that is the way things should be, then please call Waxman and Conyers and demand open hearings.
We already know some of the people that Sibel is talking about. Sibel points to an article by Phil Giraldi which “sums up the case very well… this one nails it 100%.” Giraldi’s article names prominent neoconservatives linked to Turkey, with Richard Perle and Douglas Feith figuring prominently. Also mentioned are Marc Grossman, Eric Edelman, Paul Wolfowitz, and Stephen Solarz.
Daniel Ellsberg has discussed Sibel’s claim that “suitcases of cash have been delivered to the Speaker of the House, Dennis Hastert, at his home, near Chicago…”
If you aren’t happy that guys like Perle, Feith, and Hastert are walking the streets today, please call Congress and demand open hearings.
In Kill The Messenger, a new movie about Sibel’s case, she says: “Put out those tapes. Put out those wiretaps. Put out those documents. Put out the truth. The truth is going to hurt them. The truth is going to set me free.”

Sibel Edmonds is the most gagged person in American history (for details, please see ACLU’s “Timeline of Secrecy“). The government has repeatedly invoked the State Secrets Privilege in her case – not for reasons of national security, but to cover up criminal activity. Of course, if they can get away with that in Sibel’s case, they have a blank check to do it again and again. If you don’t think that’s a good idea, please call congress.
There are a bunch of reasons why you might want hearings into Sibel’s case – to help make the country safer, to put Perle, Hastert, & Feith in jail, to rewrite the 911 Commission report, to help Sibel, to expose the phony War on Terrorism, to expose the phony War on Drugs, and a number of other possible reasons. Whatever your particular motivation, please call Congressmen Henry Waxman and John Conyers and demand public hearings into Sibel’s case.

I sure hope she’s in hiding somewhere safe and gets her day in public. I hope there are many people with copies of what evidence she has too, audio and written. I am looking forward to seeing and hearing what she can bring to the table, I hope it happens, I’m sure it would tell some tales. Some we’d know about, some we’ve been guessing about, but some I’m sure that would shock even us. Might even wake those last damn 28% Bush/Cheney/War/corruption/destruction of America-huggers!!
I’m quite sure ALL freaking Capital Hill whores get suitcases full of cash delivered to them at night, Democrats and Republicans. With the cash comes the typed scripts of what they are to say, when, and in what arena. Some even get them delivered by the Pages with the really, really cute asses.
I’ve been saying all along that’s where the missing treasury trillions are going to and the missing Iraq millions or billions. One hell of a payroll that doesn’t just end with Capital Hill, I’m sure. Money, especially THAT much, doesn’t just “disappear” – Common Sense 101.
Hope everyone writes and calls, we deserve the truth and Ms. Edmonds deserves her day. We all deserve survival as a good and honorable nation.
Please hold hearings on this in Congress. Allow Sibel to tell ALL of what she knows. Then do deep investigations!! Expose all corruption no matter where it leads!!

We are behind you Sibel … just let us know when you need “a little help from your friends” and neighbors here in America.
Dear Mr. Waxman and Mr. Conyers,
Please conduct these hearings and bring those persecuting our fellow American, Sibel Edmonds, to the place of justice.
And while you are investigating Hastert for espionage support, also check out how he caused a federal highway to go by his “remote property” and thereby increase its value by millions of dollars at the taxpayers expense. (No this was not a road in UAE near Halliburton way, it was in his home state.)
We must stop persecuting patriots like Sibel, and instead start prosecuting criminals like Hastert.

Call me a skeptic, but at this point, if Sibel is such a patriot, why doesn’t she just tell what she knows, consequences be damned? If it’s really all she says it is, she should be able to get immunity from a Democratic congress.

I’m with “Outraged” above. If you examine closely what Sibel HAS said, it seems she supports the 19 hijackers with box-cutters nonsense. Doesn’t anybody else begin to wonder about the veracity of these APPARENT critics of the administration? Scott Ritter, for instance, DOES tell “what he knows” and has a damn hard time getting anyone to listen. Sibel is famous for “not being able to tell what she knows.” What’s wrong with this picture?
Common sense tells you the “official” story is impossible in several ways, any one of which is plenty enough to expose the “nineteen hijackers” myth for what it is. All Sibel Edmonds knows is that her bosses in the F.B.I. scuppered “investigations” tracking the “hijackers” in the time before 9/11. She was picking up on the trail of phony “evidence” left behind by the C.I.A. patsy “hijackers”, a trail designed for one purpose only: To flesh out the myth. Anyone with sense can tell that Mohammed Atta and the “hijackers” didn’t board any planes that morning; the reason they scotched the “investigation” into the C.I.A. asset “hijacker crews” was to prevent anyone screwing up their trail of phony “evidence” before they could lay it all out. Certainly the planners went to the trouble of getting several guys (like Atta, Hani Hanjour etc.) framed with a hardly-believable B-movie trail of “evidence” like leaving a Koran on a barstool, taking rudimentary flying lessons (and doing pisspoor by the way) etc. and obviously the whole operation was on a timetable so they wouldn’t want Sibel Edmonds or any other benighted but well-intentioned F.B.I. investigators to take any of their patsies into custody before 9/11 and the killing off of said patsies (except the ones totally univolved, the seven or so victims of passport theft who turned up very much alive days after 9/11). Any investigation she was undertaking regarding the “hijackers” was derailed for this reason. She probably assumes like a LIHOPer that the “hijackers” were actually genuine and that her investigation into their (phony) trail of “evidence” was to “allow 9/11 to happen”. But the LIHOP theory is as ridiculously impossible as the “official” story itself, relying on the “official” story being true in every aspect except changing “they didn’t know this would happen” to “they knew in advance and let it happen”. Other than that the LIHOP people give the “official” myth a pass on every one of its numerous impossibilities. I think part of the LIHOP theory’s popularity is that its proponents must somehow think it isn’t as horrible if the Cheney regime simply “let” others do their dirty work rather than engineering 9/11 from whole cloth. This is disingenious; if someone sees a drunk homeless man laying passed out on the railroad tracks by a blind curve and that someone who sees him knows the train schedule, and knows in an hour a train is coming, but instead does nothing but sits in the bushes to watch the drunk get run over, morally speaking, the man is just as guilty as if he went over and killed the drunk himself in his sleep. But for the LIHOP people I suppose they must derive some strange comfort in falsely reassuring themselves that it is somehow “less evil” to let something terrible happen and use it for your own purposes when you could have stopped it than it is to rig the whole thing up yourself. Whatever gets someone through the night I guess, but sooner or later they will end up seeing that LIHOP is a dead end and that MIHOP is the only explanation that coincides with reality.
Sibel either 1.Is genuine and hasn’t made the effort to look into the glaring details of 9/11 that make the “official” fable impossible in several ways (which would be strange since the information is readily available and she already would know she is being lied to by the administration) and simply thinks her “investigation” into the C.I.A. patsy “hijackers” was stopped so as to “allow 9/11 to happen”; or 2.She is part of the cover-up and her role is to help in the event that the planners have to do a “limited hangout” and say “OK, SOME people in government LET 9/11 happen” instead of the truth, that the whole thing was an inside job from start to finish, and her being “gagged” lends false credence to what she has to say.
