Donald Trump certainly hopes so, as he’s changed his position on European unity from just three years ago, when he was for it, to today, when he’s apparently against it, now that he’s running for President. On today’s show we discuss a number of things that Americans can and should learn from both the dishonest politics of the Brexit vote and the way the election itself was carried out (on publicly hand-counted, hand-marked paper ballots.)
Meanwhile, back here across the pond, the fight to count votes from the June 7th primary in California continues, and the fight to keep (certain) voters from voting at all continues as well in a federal courtroom in North Carolina (No, Washington Post, Photo ID is not required to board an airplane and you should let your readers know as much), and in the great state of Texas, where so-called ‘conservatives’ have spent millions of taxpayer dollars attempting to defend their illegal, discriminatory and unconstitutional Photo ID voting restriction year after year in case after case. (Texit, anyone?)
Finally, we look at details from the unlawful purge of voters in Brooklyn, which came to light after the NY state primary in April. Were Sanders voters purged at a higher rate than Clinton voters, as Sanders supporters have been charging? We look at some of the actual evidence now in, which suggests otherwise (and as we’ve previously argued.) Plus: Death toll rising along with flood waters in West Virginia and in China; And Bluegrass fans lose a legend…

Seems like it was polling to stay in the EU
The polls I saw flipped back and forth and were otherwise pretty tight between REMAIN and LEAVE. Ultimately, just a 4pt diff is pretty close and the flooding in (pro-REMAIN) London on Election Day likely didn’t help.
And Hillary is David Cameron with a dick…

It is important to understand that support for leaving the EU was by no means limited to fascist nationalist sentiment. Like the Sanders-led opposition to the TPP, the “Leave” campaign in the UK was, as explained by John Nichols, a working class rejection of globalization and neoliberal austerity.
The super delegates and the American people should stand with Britain and elect Bernie Sanders. Are we really going to let asshole Trump run with this ball?
It has been amazing to watch all the world leaders looking so detached and bewildered. The NYT’s video website had videos of all of them and a bunch of other videos, not ONE of which didn’t make the vote look like a disaster.
It’s the working class’s turn; not some spoiled brat billionaire like Drumpf.

We’re used to the media’s “balance”. Some say it’s good, some say it’s bad. With “Brexit” IT’S ALL BAD. WE’RE ALL GOING TO DIE!

That’s exactly correct, Lar….frog in boiling pot metaphor….we have been incrementally sliding into Orwellian bad is good, down is up, wrong is right, right is left doublespeak for decades now….and like the poor metaphorical amphibian, the global mass populations find themselves in boiling water and have no fucking idea how they got there….they’re “angry as Hell!!” but mostly incapable of directing their grievances to the actual source….revolutionary times are dangerous times, to be sure….lots of sound, lots of fury, but we won’t know the true meaning of any outcome until most of the ‘smokescreen’ has cleared….we must all make the daily effort to stand upright, be who we are, and do the right thing….no matter which way things go, you will never have to look down on yourself…
