Also, after defending Jeb Bush on his Iraq comments on yesterday’s show, I’m forced to offer a retraction today in light of Jeb’s second attempt to answer the same question. It is clear that he’s at least as dumb as his brother, and certainly too dumb to be President of these United States.

I think we need to see beyond who the next GOP nominee might be, and instead ask why the corporate money is backing that person. In the case of Jeb Bush, who is obviously not a particularly qualified or interesting person, I think it’s all the more obvious that the corporate end-goal is not just to make Jeb the president, but to make a specific “something” happen AFTER he is president. (And this “something” has the maximum chance of happening under Jeb, as opposed to any other qualified person they could have setup and backed.) So hmmm, what could this “something” be? Pretty obvious to me that it is to destabilize oil production in the middle east, so that oil prices go up.
Jeb: “Hey everybody, how about one more round of fascism from the Bush family you know and loathe?”
Well, certainly to get another round of healthy young radical-right Supreme Court Justices, not to mention a whole great bunch of other federal judges!
And restuff all the federal agencies with ideologically screened personnel, as it will have been eight years since W did that. (Obama, of course, made no attempt to undo or counterbalance it.)
And rewrite the Federal Register! I’m sure ALEC and the Heritage Foundation have a model list of rewrites ready for his first-day signature, along with an Omnibus bill for Congress to pass and the GOP President to sign. It should be such an interesting day….
