    1. More pabulum for the masses:

And so right now I’d say that the jury is still out as to how global warming will affect tornadoes, which of those two variables will win out,” Cullen said. “But when it comes to things like heat waves, when it comes to things like heavy rainstorms, drought, wildfires, we know that the atmosphere is on steroids, if you will.

(Face The Nation, Heidi Cullen). Is she aware that tornadoes are 100% a function of that “atmosphere on steroids”?

Air masses encountering one another at angles is what creates tornadoes.

If those air masses are on steroids, then the tornadoes are also on steroids.

She sounded a bit like a political hack who must not scare wee the people.

The global climate system is damaged, and tornadoes are a function of that damaged system.

A damaged system causes uncharacteristic events, and characteristic events as well, but neither change the system from a damaged system to a healthy system.

To say they are all characteristic of what we have always seen (“We live in a country that has always seen extreme weather”) is further denial of the monster we are giddily producing.

One scientist recently pointed out that this “atmosphere … on steroids” was given the steroids a long time ago.

And has been given more and more steroids each year since then.

That damaged system with increasing “atmosphere … on steroids” is ever headed our way and will be getting increasingly strange as the damage increases.

    2. That march against Monsanto was organized by a girl from Utah and I was lucky enough to attend last Saturday. There were almost two thousand people at the State Capitol.

It was the largest march here since Rocky Anderson gave his anti-war/Bush speech in 2006 and the best event since we protested ALEC for a week while it’s members stayed at the Grand America Hotel here.

Can’t wait for the next uprising!

    3. Oh, wait; there was one other event here recently. Tim DeChristopher got released from prison the day before Earth Day and I got to attend an Earth Day screening of the film “Bidder 70” with a question and answer session featuring Tim after the show.

Don’t miss his interview with Bill Moyers, here.

Utah has a pretty darn good activist community. I wish we could have done better with the voting machine debacle. I would have given anything to have had two thousand people involved in that!

    4. Ya know I had no idea the monsanto thing was going on…but hey I am soooooooooo proud of use! I am going down for Bradley Manning. An I hope all people feel what is right to do an find the courage to get out there! 🙂

    5. I wouldn’t have known about the Monsanto march either, except for the fact that somebody left a notice at my apartment complex. I was amazed that nobody at the main office took it down in three weeks.

      Fliers work.

    6. This entire article and thread are fscking Clueless sheep tending the United Nations Agenda 21.

    7. My last posts here were actually a last chance for the “lost cause.”

      But you clearly aren’t ignorant.

And when your not ignorant, that means you are CAUSING THE PROBLEM YOURSELF.

      Investigate that.

    8. Okay, Phil — so you don’t back up anything you say or bother to explain it slightly coherently so that anyone reading your comments can understand what the hell you’re talking about. Got it.

    9. Nothing incoherent about Brad & Desi.

Any blog that can get Greg Palast and Glenn Greenwald to participate has to be legit.

I just sent another $20.00 your way. Take yourselves out to dinner somewhere.
